Well I went over today and got some good pics of thsi car. Maybe now I can get some good estimates on what something like this is worth?

    Tell me what you think!
As far as I can tell I see no body work done!

I think it has been re-painted. If you notice, there are no Emblems on the car, or th ugly bump-strips. There are not any "Buick" or "Skylark" Emblems on the 1/4s. It looks like a real nice car though.

I dont think all cars came with the door strips! It was an option if I am not mistaken?

ALso the car has skylark emblems on 1/4's. They got cut off in pic!

    My .02 worth...

Dustin, Even if it is a post car, I think it looks great. I am gonna stick to my original $3500 - $4500. doesn't look like you will go wrong with it.

Let us know if you get it. (Like you wouldn't get on here and brag. Right?):Brow:

The only thing I can compare it to for value is our yellow 71 post car.
It doesn't look like ours was as nice as that one, but ours had:
    ....a GS hood
    ....bucket seats
    ....floor shift console
....freshly rebuilt and slightly "hopped up" 350/4
    ....brand new rear spolier

And I had it on eBay for $3100 no reserve and got no bids
Tried to sell it here for $3000 for awhile and got no response

So in my opinion it's not worth $3000
I'm sure that doesn't help you, but it's all I have to offer.

Another thing to consider here is this car could be parted out for over 3000 bucks!! In my opinion!!

Which I would never do, just making a point!!

The fenders, coresupport, inner fenders, 1/4s, inner and outer rear wheel house, trunk are perfect no rust at all!!
The bumpers and all the chrome on here are also really nice needing no rechrome what so ever!
The grill great shape with no cracks or breaks etc..
Plus the dash cluster, pad, radio bezel and othe misc. parts!

Add that all up and tell me you dont get 3000$

I realize post cars are not worth the same as hardtops but this car is super solid and rust free unmolested parts command a premium price.. IMHO

My questionis is it coming to the place where a car like this is worth more parted then together just because it is a post!

    Hard to believe!!

Looks pretty nice, check for frame rot,and if it had excessive body work on it. looks to be a solid car from the pics. Brian

You must first take into consideration what some people would want to do with this car. Some want to gut it and make a racecar out of it, while others want to part it and make a pocket full of cash.

Me, on the other hand, see it as a great driver for many years to come. Now, is that worth a $3k price tag to me? YES! How often can you drive an unmolested 3o+ year old car on a daily basis without worrying about it falling apart because of rotten body panels and overuse?

Buy it and drive it. If you don't then I will!

if it's rust-free and as nice as it looks, i'd say at least 4k.

skylarks don't fetch that much cash, and an original 2v motor isn't exactly that desirable...but damn, it looks sweet.

    Dustin,
Did you do the old refrigerator magnet trick to check the lower portions for excessive filler? If the car is as solid as it looks I wouldn't hesitate to offer up to $3000. Beyond that and your paying for the sellers keeping it in great condition.
Post or no post it will turn heads and get you lots of :TU: when you drive it.
I could always use another if you don't want it. :Brow:

Sweet car Dustin. I got to thinking as the question you asked is a difficult one. Personally, I think the car is worth $4000 for the condition it's in, but I think once you buy it you're stuck with it. Even though the car is in beautiful condition, the desirability is in the shape of the car, not the car itself with it being a post-car. I've got a saying I tell myself everytime I see something I'm attracted too and this even goes for women, "Somethings are better to look at than to own".

Thanks guys for all the replies!

I really have to decide on this car! The best part about it is drivable as it sits...

I could ad all the goodies/upgrades at a later date!
At least it is something different.

    Thanks
    Again
    Dustin
