He was one of my idols when I was a kid playing Pop Warner, then he murdered his wife, lost all respect for him. I remember when he was so relieved when the glove didn’t fit, anyone would know when a leather glove is soaked in blood and then dried it would become child-sized!
... nonetheless, he was found not guilty of murder. Our constitution does not allow a person to be placed in double jeopardy. O J was tried twice for the same crime. Regardless of your (and my) feelings about O J, his civil rights were trampled on.
The Juice should have gotten "the juice". I'm sure his biggest regret was not finding the real killers
I don't need to. Obviously both the criminal and the civil cases were about the same thing. I never said that the trials violated the law, I simply said that it was unfair to financially destroy an individual for something of which he had been found not guilty. Whether you are on his side or not, (and I'm not) the intent of the Constitution was that the government could not keep putting an individual on trial until it finally got the outcome that it wanted. That's exactly what happened to OJ. I am aware that it was not the government that put OJ on trial in the civil case, but he was tried twice for the same crime. It has been said that justice denied to one is justice denied to all. Justice was denied to OJ, and the fact that most of us think that he was a pr--k doesn't change that.
I didn't get either political or personal. I simply stated an opinion that seems to be in the minority. It isn't the first time, and it probably won't be the last. No offense is meant to anyone.
no they wernt he was guilty on civil, sports can makejeckle and hyde,if your an asset to sports they let u do what ever u want, haventnheard anymore about the kc player that almost killed abunch of ppl on the freeway and then tried to run, didnt give a s..th about the other ppl
Difference here is that the Govt pursued the murder charges. He was found not guilty, and the Govt could not prosecute him on that again. No double jeopardy. He was sued by aggrieved parties in a CIVIL suit and lost. This happens all the time, especially in sexual assault cases. Justice was not denied to OJ.
