I ordered seat covers for my 64 and they looked great. I took them to the shop to install and they came back like this after spending 450 dollars to have the front buckets and rear seat done. :af: They claim the backs of the seat back is cut to short causing this problem. :Do No:

I dont know if I should believe the installer and call Ledgendary or try another installer. I will have over 1600 in the all new interior and this will not due.

By all means call Legendary and tell them about the problem. They will probably have you send the whole backrest to them and they will evaluate the situation and fix it if the find proper installation techniques were used. When you talk to the guy make sure you tell him about the extensive experience the installer has.

From what people say here on the board Legendary is the best. I've never boughten from them but I plan to. I would think the installer knows what he is doing. I definitely want to know the outcome of this one.

I just sent the pictures to Melissa @ Legendary and she sent them on to a tech person. I should hear something back with in 24 hours. I explained the experience the guy had (over 30 years) and what the installer told me.

I can only hope for the best. They took care of the door panels that had the wrong accent stripe color on them last fall. They seem to be a company that will stand behind they product. :TU:

Ed, will you PM me the name of the place that did the work? I'm guessing it was local. I have someone in mind for my bucket seat work too... Sounds like they didn't bother to contact you about the problem until they "finished" the work?

Just last month I received my Legendary Seat covers and did the installation myself. I thought their product was A #1 and I had no fit issues. I took my time with it and it took about 2 hours for the bottom halves and 2 hours for the top halves for each seat. I think fit came out nice and being my first time and having no wrinkles I couldn't be happier!

    Ed,

    Here's your clue..

Did they take your money, and then tell you.. Oh, by the way.....

I have never done 64 seats, but every Legendary Cover I have put on has been nearly perfect, and I can't imagine that cover is any different than the front seat we did for Trace last year. That 72 notchback bench cover fit perfect, backs, bottom and armrest.

    Ed,
Been using them since they started and other than an occassional color screwup or the dreaded shipping damage debacle I have to say they are top shelf. Going by the pics you posted I think the installer had the apprentice do your seats.
Get ready to put your game face on.
    And bring the pup!!

Ive used them twice . Had a pro do them the first time and i installed just a front set of bucket seat cover on my 72 . For being the first time doing it myself i was real happy. I dont know anything about the 64 covers but id be looking at the guy that installed them.

:af: What I'd like to know is when the heck are they going to finish the damn website. It's been under construction going on 6 months. :af:

    Adam,

I did the seats in my 70 Skylark GS. The color was Burnished Saddle. I really think I had a harder time removing the old Hog Rings then installing the new ones to the covers.

Ron from Legendary called from the tech department about the pictures. He said to send them in and they would look at them. He thinks it was the installer and wants me to remove the stainless piece and take some pictures. He said if the seats were from a 65 the backrest is larger than the 64. Can anybody measure there 64 and 65 seat backs to see if there is a difference?

    I will keep you updated.

That's the same thing I was thinking. Who the hell would even bother finishing the job with the covers that far off. Like anyone would be satisfied with that??

He should have phoned immediately when he saw that problem. 30 years can't change a man's work ethic.

Well I took the chrome off and can see why he didnt call. IF you look at the seat you dont know the chrome piece will not cover the gray material until you screw them on. I dont like the wrinkles and the guy claims they were the worst covers he had to install. He said they had to steam them to get them on. I looks like the covers are cut to narrow. I have a picture with an orginal 65 seat back and measured the distance between the round bead on the sides. I will send the pictures to Legendary too. :Do No:

I took a couple of rings out to check the pad under the frame and its just a thin white foam that should be on the frame?
