I know this is an old thread but just came across it. And think it’s kind of a funny thread. So all you guys (and girls) that have a fiberglass Stg2 hood scoop on your car makes it a non Buick hood? All your aftermarket body parts makes your car a non Buick? Your reman alternator from auto zone makes your Buick not a Buick anymore? You replaced your original bias ply tires with newer radials makes your Buick not a Buick anymore? upgraded the points dissy (on purpose lol) to hei makes it not being a Buick anymore. You get the idea? Where does it stop and where does it begin? Crazy
Upgrade to a TA cam and now it’s not Buick powered? Machine the block for a ta girdle and now it’s not Buick powered. Upgrade the block to the ta Buick based block, put the original steel heads on it ( who would do that?) and it’s no longer Buick powered? Come on!

Interesting Debate. I have respect for the matching numbers guys. But I will pick big horse power gains over stock... Stock block, with forged rods/pistons TA Heads anyday. And if I can Ide love a Tomahawk Block and forged crank.. To me still mix and match Buick parts. Upgrade..
