BBQ Jim, about this time last year, I was accused of promoting Norwalk, instead of the GS Nats, I think it was part of the deleted thread on the GSCA forum, that ultimately was shut down, remember all the flack? If you go back to about the Jan-Feb GS-Xtra 2002, you will find a copy of the top 10 in and outs, copying Car Craft lead, that said:something to the fact about promoting your own show.....
I don't recall the exact quotation, but I'm sure I could find it! IF you don't, that's why I don't have much to say, the event at Norwalk says it all! as you and many others know, it works, and we don't have talk about it! Because it works, and if Bill and I don't have fun doing it, it will end, but for some reason we still have fun, the scary part is when Sunday comes and it's all over, Bill and I look at each other and say "why can't we do this again next week?! instead of next year" I'm not kidding! That's how much we enjoy putting the Buick Race at Norwalk on! It's about making a great time for the Buick Race folks, the dinner after the races on Friday was a huge success, the car show has grown and will be a BIG event this year as we have 4 Buick Dealerships expressing interest. The Buffet dinner in Sandusky on Saturday night has brought over 100 Buick fans together in one place for a few hours! And we hope to have Buick Motor Division bringing some cars to show off this year, and hopefully even the Blackhawk! I may be to worn out to go to BG, a week later, but I doubt it! RV

I have great love and appreciation for Buick Raceday at Norwalk.....

Haven't missed one since it's inception.

    BIG THANKS Berta & Bill!

Yes, you read that right, if we could, we would, that's how much we enjoy doing the Norwalk gig, but unfortunately, I don't think it's possible! Love you all alot, but not enough to do it every week! Once a year is enough!, but not enough! is that an oxymoron or what!

And if you think the "powers that be" don't read this board..

Remember.. I can read everyone's (guests included) IP's...

But, 'Berta is right.. concerns are best taken over there...

Will they have to buy out the circle track again?... I think so or they might as well fold up the tents, and call it quits.

Mike: Read RJ's post carefully.. you will see that he is talking in the past tense, in regard to the buyout. Methinks it may have to come out of the GSCA coffers this year, and I find it interesting that BBRW has already announced that circle track racing resumes the Friday of the GSCA Nats.

    This ought to be interesting.

Everyone who is a member needs to voice an opinion on that board. This is not set in stone.

  7. Chris is right, they have stated that it is still up in the air. They've invited "members only" to post "constructive" opinions thru 1/31/03, then they will lock the thread...

This all seems a little late, as I believe it also states early in the thread that the current GSXtra already states that there is no racing on Friday this year... what about all the racers that have to plan their days off far in advance of the event? If they had the capability, they should have posted a poll on that board a long time ago, asking for member input.

******disclaimer....I have not attended a GS Nats in the past, and likely will not in the future. Too far, and too much going on at work that time of year.******

I got so worked up while reading this topic that I posted my opinion on the GSCA website. If they don't listen to popular opinion its their fault.
