I would say that from how you described this car and from having parked next to Jamie at the Puyallup show, you are right on about the comparison.
The reason that I would like Jamie's car more is that I have a better mechanical evaluation based on his road trip if nothing else, they are both going to need paint and probably at least minimal body work. Jamie's interior is in need of some love for sure, but before you were done with either you would go through the interior for what I want, and the there is the rust in the inner fender on the blue car. Final thing is that all other factors being equal I would rather buy from Jamie than someone that I haven't met.
Either one would be a good buy in my opinion though.

I read that David and it made me smile. Would probably bring a chuckle to Jamie as well. I can imagine the lineup, 6 foot 4 (+?) 250 lb(?) Jamie with his long hair and beard standing next to the 90+ year old one owner lady, and the crowd being asked who they would rather buy a car from, and Jamie jumping up and down yelling "pick me, pick me!".:beers2:

Well, when you put it that way you had me laughing here also!
Just can't trust them 90 year old women. Go with the giant redneck looking dude every time!

    Hey guys,

as I mentioned in an earlier post, I wrote to the owner via craigslist. Yesterday I got an answer from the owner that the car was sold for 6000$. I still would say, judging from the pictures only, that it was worth the money.

Hopefully another nice 65 Skylark will show up sooner or later.

Have a nice day to you all:) .

I saw that car in person over the weekend. It's a nice car, but not a $6000 car, and it doesn't run/drive as well as the ad states. Someone wanted that particular car real bad to pay $6000 for it.

Overall, the car 'looks' nice, especially the interior, but it wasn't taken care of mechanically. The owner states it has never gotten more than 10mpg, even when new. Although it needs a tune-up, I could find no obvious reason for that claim.

    Cosmetic Issues:
20+ yr old repaint shows usual rust bubbles around rear wheels / rear window + numerous dings and scrapes.

    Mechanical Issues:
Needs: New Exhaust, Major Tune Up + Intake Manifold (cracked), Carb Work, Brakes, Tires, Tranny Inspection (clunks when downshifting, possibly just a u-joint), and Complete Suspension.

I received this in an email this morning from the owner:

Iam getting calls everyday, I have an offer higher than yours, just looking for full price, thanks John
