Hey Arno, I was stationed at Pendelton Barracks, just a short walk from the armor outfit. We used to walk over there to get a hair cut or go to the movies sometimes. That 3rd aromor barracks is where Elvis spent a little time when he was in Germany, you ever hear that rumor? Man, it is a small world huh? Who would have ever thought that I would have a Buick buddy in Giessen 30 years after I left there? This is starting to make my mouth water for some GB beer! Mike
Thats life,Mike! remember that good 'LICHER' beer?had a short time stay at THE ROCK.I knew a old mechanik in my Elvis was stationed most of the time in Friedberg(I was told),he neighborhood who remembered him well,because he often repaird the cars Elvis drove-he had the pictures showing him and Elvis together,Elvis in varius cars,Elvis in army outfit and many more.Should have made copies of them,because the old mecanic died about 5 years ago and his relatives thrown everything away he owned-even torn down the house and shop he woked in-to make room for a new house they can't even pay off... Too bad you couldn't have got to those Elvis pictures, they would be worth mucho marks with todays collector market. I tried about every beer they had but that GB was the best. I left many a guest house with my coaster full of x's if you know what I mean. Man we had some good times!
