did the underhood, and door jams, and trunk too. so much better! There must have been 20lbs of leaves in there!

Still look like a $500 car? LOL

Looks waaaay better thana $500 car! I'm always amazed when people sell a car that they don't spend a little bit of time cleaning it up to make it look it's best for the condition it's in. Aside for the hood beling a different color, I'll bet if you washed it with dawn dishwater soap claybar'd it and then used a buffing compound it would be very presentable. ACC brand carpet is cheap through Rock Autoand would brighten the interior after a good wash of the seats, door panels, dash, etc.

See this thread where Yardley turned a turd into a presentable car for me. Yes, you can polish a turd, they proved it on Mythbusters!

    Keep up the good work!

well, the paint is pretty toasted, but i plan on painting the whole thing anyway!

got a set of rollers today. too good of a deal to pass up.

Well, they are kinda small for my taste...

They are kinda narrow for my taste...

but they are very "era specific" for the car, they fit well, they have brand new tires on them, the price was right, and they look 100x better than the stock wheels and rotten tires (i'll be hanging on to the stock rally wheels tho)

    anyway...

Think im gonna keep it the stock color (with a fresh spray of course)

got a ACC carpet kit, new headlights, and a few misc odds and ends.

but all of a sudden, shes not starting. drove fine and put a couple hundred miles on her... then she sat for 2 weeks because of the 105 degree days and no AC in the car.

now it just cranks, no fire without starting fluid, and it wont stay running. :(

will work on it this weekend to try to see whats up.

That car is in fantastic shape. Some serious potential there. I hope you enjoy fixing it up.

Old fuel pump gave out or a bunch of crud broke loose and pluged the filter. Just a guess.

That's my bet, too. Watch your water pump and thermostat, as well. They are prone to go out on cars that have been sitting for a while.

Those wheels wouldn't last 15 minutes on our roads.

We have some of the worst roads and bridges in the country... but it helps when you only drive it every other weekend or so, and only to cruise around a little.
