That is something I would start saving for right this minute if i knew it was coming. I would love to inject the 401 in my 62 Electra, and that would make it so much easier.
Bigger valves are possible but there not to much bigger, 1.92 intake and 1.60 exhaust is max. On the cam; It's all about lift and duration. The longer the valve is open; the more fuel gets in the chamber. The EELCO brand cam was originally designed in association with Jerry at Schnieder and is designated as a GS+ . It has been very popular and the same grind is now available from many other Buick parts suppliers.
I know of a few injected nailheads out there running the GM TBI systems from late model Chevy trucks. There is one car that I know of that used the risers to install the injectors in under the manifold. http://www.eelco-usa.com/product_in...id=44&osCsid=299c531ea1ce52200cb765a3705e6ba6 As far as adding bosses to the single 4bbl; It can be done but there needs to be a lot of interest to make it worthwile for a company to make pattern changes. It seems like a good idea to me. How many would buy it?
The Edelbrock (and EELCO) manifolds can be adapted to port fuel injection. The manifold design has ports that are at a similar height....so bungs can be welded on, and a fuel rail installed. Those who attended Yardley's Buick Picnic last week, had the pleasure of seein g this Fuel-injected-Nailhead powered Street Rod!!
how was that done? anybody out there know the particulars of that neat port fuel injected nailhead? I gotta have one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
