I need information on where I can find the brake line that goes from R/R wheel cylinder to the junction block just above the differential.

Mine sprung a leak and Biggest Red is down for the count 'till I find one. Any info or a part number would be greatly appreciated.

If that one is leaking, I would inspect and consider replacing the others. Buy the whole kit from Fine Lines, etc.

Unfortunately They only list A body, no B body cars? Inline tube is another option.

    inline tube probably repops them.

Classic tube is another. I have had such an experience with Inline that I hate to recommend them. J

theres a lazy S bend at the wheel cylinder. buy a pre-made one and just make one; use one factory end flare, trim the tube, and flare the other. the others arent far behind. soft bendable by hand stuff will be best for you.

    What a PIA ! ! !
I replaced the water pump about 6 months ago, it was the original pump. I wasn't singing any Jungle Bells while doing that job. Lots of never touched stuff on 50 yr old Biggest Red.

So on with the brake line story.
1-Jack Biggest up in the azz end real high, jack stand and chocks. (Grand Nasty was on the lift, I was to lazy to switch them around. Gee I forgot how nice it is to lay on your back all day)
2-Spray all the hardware I'll have to deal with, lots o liquid wrench.
3- Get out a load of tools, set up a bunch of lights, piece of cardboard down "check".
4-Dive under that baby with a positive attitude. Whuppps, one of the lights fell down. Wham, bang my head on that friggin factory trailer hitch.
5-Crawl out from under the car and..........what was I gonna do, oh the light. get a couple of more wrenches.
6-Brake line flared nut, at the baking plate, came out like butter. The one up top at the other end of the brake line not so good !
7-Maybe that nut didn't like the language I used on it when it wouldn't budge. Now the wrench is slippin', I gotta save this nut before I'm screwed.
8-I didn't know I had that many Vise Grips, one on the junction block, one on the bracket, one on the damn nut. Still won't budge.
9- Nut is pretty beat up now so I cut the line, move it out of the way, find a socket that was supposed to fit, secure area with extra Vise Grips, hammer that socket onto the nut, and do the Hokey Pokey with that nut for about half an hour.
10-Finally, it's out and now it's time for this Yankee with an attitude to deal with the high school kids they got working in the auto supply store.
11-Brake line ??????????????????????????????? What's that. I'll show you where it is, my friend use to be the manager hear. NOPE, you can't come behind the counter. See ya Skippy, on to the next group of ex McDonald employees. Do they have a car or does mom drop them off ?
12-Brake line computer search at next store, he then asks what year and type of car. All I want is a straight brake line and i'll friggin make my own. He asks about car again. so in my best Lewis Black imitation I give him the stats. Oh, we wouldn't have anything for a car that old.
13-OK Moon' this isn't working. Ahhhhh, go to the brake shop they should have everything. Southern Gentleman hooked me up with the correct size brake line only he was plum outta dem damn nuts I beat up on that car.
14-Lets see, I went to........Napa, AutoZone, O'Reilly, Parts Authority, Chevrolet Dealer, Ford Dealer. Harbor Freight, Part-B-Us, Ace Hardware, The Local Hardware store, and was reduce to begging at various repair shops that have some nasty southern boys workin there. (I don't think they like New Yaawkas.......FUGETABOUTIT ! ! !
15-I Must have passed Chick Filet about 6 times and never stopped for lunch
16-Now I'm weak and weary but there's one last place I have to stop at, a run down little parts place that's never open. Wow, he's open. Walk inside and tell him what I need and the old guy looks up and says......DORMAN, on the rack , down the bottom.
17-Old School, very little words, pay up and get out. Head back home to lay on my back again.

Jeeeeez, I didn't realize it was so late................I'll continue this wonderful LOL story tomorrow.

Continue: I just mistakenly deleted an hours worth of the rest of this story this morning and don't have the time or strength to redo it. Biggest is done and I'll bleed the brakes and all is well. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

isnt that a typical day? I take the pre-made length, cut the one end and re-use the nut. do you have tubing wrenches? I like to use heat, but a propane torch on the floor back in the forbidden zone needs extreme caution. next time youre at menards, get a pocket torch that holds a pic lighter with a pencil flame. thats enough to heat the bejeezuz out of those 3/16 tubing fittings. my biggest problem is working upside down with crap in my eyes. the rest is just calisthenics.

For stuff like that there is only one place to stop . The local NAPA store has people with a brain and straight brake lie in 10 inch increments after the 12 inch length.

And ALL sizes 1/8 , 3/16/ 1/4 and up. Chain stores have NO idea.

Now lets hear from the "OLD TIMERS " that still call it " BUNDY FLEX " That's the Company that used to have the hanging display of the lines .

Must be where you are . I've found the guys at NAPA to be very Courteous and Helpful. Its either NAPA or the local auto parts store. NEVER Advance , Autozone or Pep Boys.

Eastwood has a really super nice flaring tool for $150-$200, I paid $150 on sale. You can compare that to the $500 ones that the tool trucks sell. Mine has paid for itself several times over and I've only had it for a year or so. Brake lines are so easy to make.

I bought a harbor fright inverted flaring tool at a yard sale for 5.00 and have made probably 50 flares with it. cupro nickel is a breeze to flare. stainless is the worst since it has to be too tight to seal, and carbon steel is tough to flare upside down in place. rust can be an issue with the CS as well. dont forget the benders.

I avoid napa like prune juice. private franchise, illiterate counter guys etc. etc. actually, by name, the counter guys are a joke around town.

I use carquest (its an old family owned store across the street from napa) and the owner remembers me by name, even with 6 months in between. that counts for something. his shop is always way overbooked for machine work though with only one machinist.

That is exactly the set I borrowed from Parts Authority but the bar with the sized holes wouldn't clamp completely closed, it was bent. Always left a little nick or split where the seams meet. had to put it in my vise to get a good flair. Worn out POS ! ! !
