Does anyone know if door panel's and seat cover's are available anywhere for a 65 special or skylark sedan with bench seat?
I don't have a current Year One catalog for Buick, so I don't know about them either?

I just bought a 65 Special sedan that look's like the window was left down, and had animal's living in it  :ball:

you may already know this but i'll post it anyway. The 65 special uses a different door panel than 64-65 skylark. it is the same style as 66-67 cars and the panels slide up under stainless trim rather than going up over the top of the door. when i was assembling my 65 GS post coupe i had no luck in locating the correct door panels for a 65 post coupe. arm rest bases and pads are reproduced. dome light lenses are reproduced, special bench seat covers for rear were not reproduced at the time i was looking.. a special rear seat is wider than a hardtop seat. not sure about the front bench seats. I contacted Duane H when i was looking and he was unable to help and had no suggestions for suppliers at the time. Bob

    wide seat?

Does the hardtop use lower armrest panels with the sheet metal spacer's that go from the lower armrest's along side the seatback and attach to the package tray?
I guess what I'm asking is, if it comes down to it, I can use an interior kit for a 66-67 hardtop(door panel's and seat cover's)?? correct?

my 65 GS post had arm rests in the rear but they were the stand alone type meaning they screwed directly to the door panel and were mounted 6-8 inches above the seat. the 65 special i bought a little while back had no rear arm rests from the factory. you could install skylark rear seats and arm rest assemblies and then use the 66-67 interior parts and they would fit fine but not be correct for the car and year. another option for the seats is to have an upholstery shop do them from scratch and duplicate the original pattern as close as possible. that would allow you to keep your correct rear seat. Headliners are the same for post cars and hardtops. I like the color of your 65.. let me know if you need any parts.. i know of a couple cars with lotsa good parts left on them

    parts car?

I would be interested in a complete or semi-complete part's car.

I'm not really concerned with originality with this car, I've had enough in the last few years of building car's for the pure stock drag's, with the whole correct casting number this, only stock color's,no overdrive trans, blah, blah, blah.
No, this car is going to be used as a fun driver, built my way, for the highway :Smarty:

The ONLY option that I can see that this car has is the auto trans.
    Manual steering
    Manual brakes
    Radio delete

I started to build a 350 Buick for the Pure Stock Drags a few years ago, but gave up on the project when I had to sell the car. I still have all the engine stuff, and a formula for a healthy running stock appearing engine. I might as well use this car for the test bed, along with a 2004r overdrive trans and a 3.73 rear gear :3gears:

    Hi Tom
If you want new stuff there is SMS who can redo the heat pressed vinyl. I got the "Special" interior panels for my '67 from them. THey made the seat inserts as well. Now all I need is my local upholstry man to sew the seats together.

    thanks for the reply's

I should have mentioned that I'm going to try to make this a budget project, especially after over-paying for the car :Dou: This car is about a $750 car that I have close to $2500 into just getting it home :Dou: :Dou: :Dou:

If I go with 66-67 interior stuff, I have a "inside guy" at PUI who sell's me stuff at cost, talk about saving's, you wouldn't believe the markup

I wonder if Harle has the old interior from his GS project. that was a post car. Higher level interior, but price may be right.

    Thanks for all the tip's

I just got back from vacation, so a little late on reply's,sorry.
    Harle, I'll be in touch.

Does anybody have a rear seat and armrest's(lower door panels) for a 66-67?
Or can someone tell me if a 64-65 Hardtop uses rear armrest panel's and the narrow rear seat? Picture's anyone?

My rear seat frame is destroyed, someone "yanked" it out instead of removing it the right way, now it's all bent up beyond repair.
I just need a recoverable core rear seat set, preferably something I can order cover's for that are readily available.

Guy's what I'm looking for is a straight answer to verify......If I order a complete interior kit(seat cover's/door panels) for a 66 or 67 skylark, will everything fit?
Bob said in a post above that 66-67 hardtop door panels are the same as 65 sedan panel's,is this for sure? And if I find a 66-67 rear seat, I should be able to get readily available seat cover's,right?
I really hate to sound like a broken record by asking the same question over and over, I'm just trying to avoid buying stuff I don't need that won't fit.
    Thanks guy's,
    Tom
Originality isn't a concern, it's just a fun driver, and anything will be better than the current rat's nest/Indian Blanket excuse for an interior

Why not just get the 65 Skylark door panels as they will be fine and then you can get the 65 seat covers to match. I was going to buy a 65 skylark for some parts and it has front bucket seats and the rear seat you need with all the filler pieces. I think you can still use your front arm rest from the special. This is a 64 door panel and I put the chrome on. You would get that from the 65 also. If you want to go in together on the car for 250 you can have all the interior parts you need.

Post cars are not the same. Tom. Maybe the gto's panels are being repoed?and you could use them, also i know of a special in a junk yard the may have the rear seat core, but the owner thinks it's gold. Here's a picture of the rear armrest and panel Tom needs. Harle

Sorry I forgot he said post :Dou: Sorry for the bad info.

  20. The armrest bases and pads are reproduced. they are the same as chevelle and OPGI sells a complete set front and rear for about 125.00. also the door panels from a special hardtop should be the same.. only the skylark series got the deluxe style door panels that go all the way to the glass
