You'll have them in your hands in a few days...

Kinda thought that way wheelz... please, no offense intended. Mikes stuff looks top shelf! I explained the whole deal to my wife, who incidentally backed the car off the trailer the very first time. I showed her the amount of engagement on the shifter detent for "park" and explained to her that a mere bump could've dislodged it and sent the car idling in reverse through a busy parking lot! I laughed; she freaked. Itll be good to have a positive gear selection, especial L1 with a fresh carb!
Now Ive gotta change the dash bezel and the wiper switch, plus the heater control. The heater studs are busted off and the control is junk as well. Whats an exspurts hint on how to remove it. I hope the dash pad doesn't need to come off! Bill in TR

Scrubbed the new one clean and painted it so itll be minus the silver edging. Gonna polish the gage lense with NOVUS... its what the USAF uses to polish plexi canopies on jets. GOOD STUFF! Did a 1970 SS396 chevelle and it looked awesome. Gotta get a set of labels for it too... Year One??

Casey Jones must be asleep at the throttle here. The fireman was reaching for the WABCO air brakes, but even he was too late... For the last two days, this place has given me nothin' but problems. Is it me or is the server on WEB TV?? I make a post and even copy it to paste again when "internal server error" shows up. I refresh then get booted off. Come back and its gone from my clipboard. Internal error again. Like three times and then finally get back on and its posted 3 times. Is the server set up like the for sale stuff with "first come first serve"? MODERATORS: got an answer for me??

Still making the 50 yard DASH LOL !! Mine was originally a black pebble grain bezel, and the replacement had cruddy looking wood grain on it. Took that stuff off and painted the bezel satin black. Looks OK except for the AC controller. I masked off the lettering and sprayed it too only as a stop gap measure. I PMd Greg Setter and await his reply. Anyone else make these??? Bill in TR

Bill, ona more thinga. DUNNNO if you DO knower not.... I am certain you are putting a lot of work into the dash restoration...YOU should know that MARK REEEVES at Then and Now Restorations 770.592.4411

    http://thenandnowauto.com/media/parts_list/TANAPartsList.pdf
(Download web page and proceed to MIDDLE OF PAGE 12) He refurbishes the dash besels with superior articulation to detail AND the chrome is BRILLIANT CHROME where dash chrome is posta be.. ABSOULUTELY GORGEOUS... not too expensive at $285 w/core, BUT, WELL WORTH the time and effort its take to try to do this on your own...

    'just sayin'.. . .

That link went into the faves... thanks; its good to know where to go without being told LOL!! Being an old guy with some experience, AND being a German and a Virgo, I can easily say I know when to say when... Every screw I turn on this car turns into another project; notice I didn't say restoration. This rod is jacked around enough that it wont warrant a restoration per se, but something I wanna (needa) to have fun with. Ive always been of the opinion of "Judge not.." and if I get judged I could easily tie them bassturds down spread eagle on a fire ant hill with honey all over their.........
So the object is just to have fun and enjoy the hobby. The wind was howling at 30Kn today with sideways snow, and Im in the shop at 80F in a T shirt listening to Burl Ives sing kawanzaa songs. Can life get any better than that??? We do a car show in town up here with 500 entrants. When I roll through town with the headers uncorked, no one in their right mind is gonna mind chrome missing on the dash board LOL ... Just sayin'.
Yeah... wish this was as nice as some of the ones I owned when they were a year or two old, but thatll never happen. Its still an experience just making it run right, look OK, and have (most) things working again. Today was console re-installation day. We did the cable and trans brackets yesterday and even that took 3 hours with me 'n the kid (25) always been around 440 cudas and moper stuff... Wanna get him in the Bad Lad for a spin. The console was another 3 hours getting the jesus clips on and everything lined up and now it glides through the gear selector; just like it DID 40 years ago!. Also filled the triple gage holder with a new (old) gage... see whats missing? Igive you a hint: it should've been a voltmeter, but it was dodge technology. Now theres something that works and looks kewl.
So tomorrow, Lord and Wife willing, Im gonna start to get the stuff transferred from the old to new dash bezel... I can see the clean up on that end and install taking 3-4 days in itself. I wanna be done by 1-27-2014 when I get my new knees. Bill in TR.

Didn't hesitate on passing up the new $40 billet pull bar on the shifter... peeling chrome gives you manly hands and a few chrome slivers hahaha

Name that gage! NOTE: Not a meter either...

I love ya man... (just in the biblical sense tho LOL)!! Yeah, one of the good things about retirement is time to do stuff like this instead of working all day first. The negative part is, theres never enough time to do ALL the stuff you wanna do! I pace myself. I figger Ive got maybe 20 years left and maybe 25 years worth of stuff to do. Hmmm... Money and wives are the other issue... Pat gave me the OK to order a new AC bezel applique from Greg tonight. It really helps that she digs this car! I showed her the pic of the cracked one and she thought that's what I wanted to order. YUCKKK !!! I showed her what a new one looks like and she asked me what was I waiting for? I gotta love her too!! Bill in TR
