Thanks for all the replies guys!

    Couple more questions:

Will the Dynomax 17749 mufflers fit my '64 Skylark?

How is the sound with 2 1/2" full exhaust, 350, and true duals?

I would like the exhaust to sound healthy, but not too loud at a cruise where you can hear the stereo or other passengers.

I remember reading some threads about mufflers, but can't seem to find them, and can't remember the muffler many guys were recommending.

    Thanks,

Dear Michael and V-8 Buick fans of a "vocal" exhaust.

I don't know if anything was changed between 1964 and 65. You wouldn't expect it but I hope someone else will know for sure.

I can't answer that question literally either, but with a big-block and competition headers the sound is quiet enough when the engine isn't working very hard that you can easily have a conversation. On the other hand, when you are accelerating onto the freeway you won't hear anything but the engine.

When I pulled into Orinda Motors on Monday for a 400 mile checkup, the service manager heard my trusty wagon before he realized I was coming in and was trying to remember which assertive car went with that exhaust. It definitely gets people's attention.

I assume the 350 with exhaust manifolds will be quieter in the cabin, but the exhaust should be still aggressive going out the tailpipe. So it should be an ideal combination. Hopefully someone with exactly that combo can verify.

    Cheers, Edouard
