I am looking for a right side exhaust manifold for a 1965-66 GS400. I will purchase a pair if necessary. I have rewritten this ad based on new info. One great member loaned me one, but I gotta return it ASAP. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please contact me with a private message.

This is a 65/66 Skylark GS manifold. The big car manifolds dump a little forward of the rearmost exhaust port. What is the application? Something cool? :Brow:

Oh, thanks Mark Ascher for the foto-how is the Champagne Mist beast doing? I'm still working on that trip to MN

'63-'65 Riviera manifolds dump at the rear, also. They don't have the long branch design like the '65-'66 GS has,but they do dump straight down.

Thanks for the quick response! The Skylark GS manifold would be perfect. I would also love to see a photo of the Riv. manifold. My project is a 431 Nailvalve in an '82 Chevy pickup with a beefed up (Raptor) 700R4. The center dump right manifold will fit (just barely), but the rear Dump manifold would be much neater and easier. I assume that these manifolds are as rare as a virgin in a maternity ward.

    Wheelz,
I could give you a definate answer about the 1965 manifolds if I knew what the right one looked like. If it dumps behind the rear exhaust port, I am REAL interested!
    Thanks,

Thanks to all who answered my request. If you have a manifold that looks similar in shape to the one in Specialwagon65's photo, I am interested. My truck project is not at a standstill, but I hate hackwork; I really don't want to use a manifold that is ugly and will cause problems down the road. The GS style manifold looks as though it would work really well. I have lotsa clearance by the firewall, but very little with the frame.
    Thanks again,
    John

I got an 66 Electra passenger side manifold.....it dumps at the back by the fire wall. It just does not drop down a foot and a half like the GS manifold. The GS manifold may hang down too far with it's outlet depending on how your motor sits in the frame. $25.00 for my manifold plus shipping. It may be hard to find a single side in the GS manifolds.....i would'nt break up a pair if i had some.
Picture this afternoon.......i'll even bead blast it before i send it to you.

    Peace WildBill

The long branch GS manifolds are expensive, plus hard to find. I had a pair and sold for $300.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

    John,
The 700R4 will not bolt to the nailhead....you will need an adapter plate to make that work and I think those are $150-200 for the nailhead.

Unfortunately, the manifolds that Wheelz has are the same as I already have. I need a right manifold that is the mirror image (or close to it) as the left.
I do have an adapter kit for the 700R4, and as of this writing, the Buick Nailhead is sitting inna chassis all bolted up to the tranny and sitting on it's newly-made mounts. The right manifold is the major issue, but if that can be resolved - I expect that it will be running by mid-August.
Thanks for all who have sent info and photos.
    Best,
    John

Hey John.....Have you considered SANDERSON Nailhead headers? Just so happens I have a nice OLDER set of BNH2, with a straight down CENTER exit format...or will that type leave other problems with frame issues??? Here are a few pix.....Wheelz, Tampa Bay

    Wheelz,
There is a HUGE crossmember directly under the center of the engine - along with a couple of bolted-in reinforcement plates that really need to stay where they are. This swap is unusual in that I have all kinds of room at the rear of the engine where most swaps usually don't, and very little room at the center and front of the engine where there is normally plenty. I have a set of Sanderson headers (on loan). The left side has been horribly mangled by the person after whom the term "hacker" was coined. The right side is perfect and does not come close to fitting. I suppose that I could try to install it inverted, and have the exhaust exit through the hood farm tractor style, but that's not quite what I have in mind for my pickup. Thank you for the response, though.

Then you need a right hand manifold from a '63-'65 Riviera.Or a pair.
