Man those are tiny cars, in the pic the car looks like its a decent size. When the mechanic I took my car to got done w/fixing it and parked it outside in the grass next to a Spitfire, it dwarfed it so bad it appeared as if the Spitfire was a power wheel! Sorry had to get that out. Patrick P.S, Rob, are you gonna show these kids what a 455 can do??? :Brow: I still cannot believe how cool your auto tech shop is!!
Rob it sure looks like a great shop and also a great place to learn . Take with you all the knowledge you can when you leave on graduation day ... These next 4 years will go real fasr for you . Enjoy , I'm jealous ! :TU:
Pat, it would be cool to have a 455 but the budget will limit us greatly. Cody i'll get some more pics monday or tuesday. Thanks Bruce. :TU:
it reminds me of my old high school shop. they were phasing out the wood shop and making more room for the steel shop. we only had 800-900 students. 2 twin post frame lifts, 1 hydraulic single post frame lifts, 2 hydraulic wheel lifts. the hand tools arnt as good in selection but you have access to everything else... i miss that place. the machine shop has one CNC lathe, one CNC bridgport, 6 other lathes (including one with a 12' bed) and 3 other bridgeports, plasma cutter, tig, mig, stick, gas welding outfits. paint booth. they also have 2 bays that were used for the "Heavys" class (CDL traning) and bus and semi repair. it's nice being out in farm country where people are into this and supports the need. they don't do much in the way of group project cars because the students bring in their own rides and let people work on them. thats awesome that your place is like that too.
Very cool Rob, wish our automotive shops were as in good shape as the one you have in the pics! I haven't took auto mechanic or auto body yet but will in my sophmore/junior/senior years. im taking small engine tech before i go big The shops here focus on the so called big 3 ford/chevy/dodge/ and sometimes chrysler. I took a tour of our shop and right now they have a 1970 chevelle 454 that they are "cloning" into a LS6. Pretty awesome though Rob! :TU:
