    TICK TOCK TICK TOCK,
5 days till' the race, up on the rock.

The Colo. boys they think they'll win,
Because of hometrack, and the air thats thin.

But they dont see things, the way we do,
We flatlanders are coming, and WE ARE the shoes.

Your track, our track, makes no change,
The belts come home, to stay here on the plains.

I am trying to get this junk back together(AGAIN) and things are looking ok for now. Barring any unforseen problems I will be there as the sole rep from Kansas. SO........ with that being said, yall better hope that I don't get this thing back together. Cause'
if I do, I AM coming up the hill with a chip AND some attitude !!! You can't expect to run fast up there, so, may as well come up and play the bracket racing game that is................

    Don't hate the player...............

    I AM READY!

I am sooooo stoked, I finally got my Skylark completely done about an hour ago. :TU: :TU: I have been working on it everyday since mid June. Thats not the half of it though, next I turn 16 (and get my license) on Wednesday the 25th, and then I get to race my car on sunday the 29th!!! I'm really exited, and I can't wait to see all you guys in Pueblo. Kevin :3gears:

Okay you guys are all talking up a pretty heated race. Who will win what, where the belt will be going. From what I read sounds like half the cars aren't even race worthy yet! Instead of spending all this time conversing - get your butts out in the garages and start turning those wrenches.

I'd like the belt to stay in Colorado but from the Kearny results don't think that'll happen.

Really looking forward to seeing Kevin Weiman join us for his first race.

See everybody Saturday and have a safe drive.

    Sue,

Listen to you barking out orders, how you gone completely mad ? You gotta remember that when you come in here and go to postin' in the midst of all this ''bravado'', your just beggin' for a reply. ESPECIALLY with Gibson in the rebel rousin' mood he's been in lately.......UNLESSSSSSSS he is gonna be one sided in his responses, and point them at innocent racers(like myself) that are coming in from clearrrrrrrr outa state, lmao..............

See you Sat. evening I imagine, sometime.................If not then then ''probably'' Sunday somewhere.

    Welcome to our home, Sue!

    Hey Suzzie:

How is that red 64 doin' anyway? Did the "Old man" get the fiberglass hood back on, or is he planning on going slow with the extra weight?:moonu:

(How's that Dave?? One sided??:moonu: :moonu: )(Yes that's two moons to you)

Seriously, Sue: welcome to the board, and have fun:3gears:

It does sound like I'll have the only race car there in ready to race trim.:blast:

I don't know if I can handle this, I have been in THRASH mode for the last two years.:Brow:

    Whole lotta this goin' on, I hope:3gears: :3gears: :3gears:

And not much of this: :Smarty: or this:

    (Well, maybe a little from me!:Brow: )

BARKING?! Not me! Just nippig at your heals so those cars get done and to Pueblo. I can just visualize Dave working on the car while Kris is driving down the highway. Dave - make sure you're strapped in!

Since Jim's car is most likely the only one ready maybe the Buick Belt will stay in Colorado. Gee Dave, your gonna go home with a really long face. Better pack a box of tissues. Too bad your tow vehicle won't qualify for the belt.

Read some of you are talking a bbq in hotel parking lot. Not me - I'm going to DJ's to be served a wonderful steak by someone else. this is stress week for me and my back muscle are shot. But we'll meet you in the parking lot later.

Yes, the Skylark will be about 60# lighter, I get off his legs! The fiber is on.

You won't find me here often, just thought I chime in for fun

Glad to see you guys are turning wrenches and not spending precious minutes reading and posting!!! Those cars should be ready to run! Maybe Dave won't need to be strapped to the trailer.

First loser in the loser bracket!

Yep that's me: work my :moonu: off all afternoon just to give it away with another BIG RED BULB!:af:

Not a bad day overall, Mishi got runner-up in the Buick race in the morning. She nearly fainted at the line, heat exhaustion, from running the car with no A/C on. :Dou:

Me, I look like a baked potato (the RED kind), from running around Saturday during test and tune tracking times on about 6 cars, then racing on Sunday.:bglasses: (not cool, I look like a raccoon :af: )

I guess I didn't do so bad, my reaction time average works out to be .015 ( five red lights, six green).:eek2:

I won 6 rounds and only lost four, of course you know that I lost when it would have meant money if I had won.:jd:

Anyway, you missed a very fun event if you weren't there:rolleyes: and you more than likely had a good time if you were there!

As always, I need to thank Sue for running a great event, John, Chuck, Larry, Dave, Ed, Donna (a big Thankyou), Karrie, Tina, Kris (X 2), Steve, Student Racer:TU: , and Kenny, Keith, for following me home, all the rest of the Longmont gang, and anybody I can't think of right now, for a great time.

:Comp: I'll post more detail as time permits.

Just wanted to let everybody know that no matter what the race outcome was: I took out that :moonu: in the dragster for all of us:3gears: :3gears: :3gears:

    Well,

Nothing like driving across eastern Colo. at 2 AM to reflect on a longgggggggggg weekend, lol. All in all no big complaints from Kansas I must admit. A fun time and a full weekend I must say. Kris, myself, and brat pack arrived at about 6 ish' Saturday afternoon. Just in time to check in and join the BBQ in the parking lot/patio at motel. We did kinda fill up the parking lot didn't we yall. I think there were even 5-6 parked out in the street.

Racing was fun I guess, 3 seperate events in one day may have been a bit much though. I(like most others there) were a bit disappointed in the timeslip situation :Dou: . Holy, what a pure pain in the :moonu: . But we worked around it ok. My old pile worked ok and I am happy for the most part with the way it ran. Quickest run for me was a 12.38 with a couple .40's tossed in there. Not bad for my $200 motor, lmao.

Would like to toss out a couple BIG ''CONGRATS'' to Michelle for here runner up the Buick race. She was sick as hell yall, and I think once the ''rush'' of competition was over, it hit the girl HARD. We all knew you were tough(by being with Jim), but you really toughed it out racing girl. Your my hero :TU: . Also congrats to Jim on his R/U in consolation. Real nice time to light up the red bulb there buddy. Congrats all the same. And thanks for taking out that jack :moonu: in that dragster. Will someone PLEASE tell me the difference between and altered and a dragster other than wheelbase ??????????? I must admit, for a dragster, it ran like a POS. I mean really, he only dialed a 12. Next year I am leaving my 64 at home and I am coming in a rock stock v6 in something that can't spin the tires and only runs like 19's. Then I will start hunting for a$$hole$ like him intentionally so the real guys can have fun actually racing. I honestly can't remember the last time I was that mad at the races. And I am saddened that my hobby got me that upset........

And finally..................Randy Messinger. My road traveling companion. You were ''The MAN'' this weekend. Runner up in the Club race, and then he turned around and took the belt back to Nebr. by winning the Buick only race. Yall shoulda heard the guys that were trying to duck him in lanes, it was great humor. I know I saw a couple of his slips and he was rolling. I saw a .001 and a .002 reaction times on a couple of his slips. And then on the slow R/T slips(.030's and .040's) he would just run his number. And I mean on his number. I saw one where he had like a .080 light but ran a .75 on his .75 dial. Too hard to beat that. The belt couldn't have gone to a nicer guy in my opinion and it's a absolute pleasure to race with and against a true gentleman like Randy. You always know your gonna get a straight up race outa him and you better be on your game, or your just gonna get parked.

Of course the pix Kris took are a bit swayed to myself and the ''hate tank'' but I have a few I will post here for yall.

Hey: I didn't mean to slight any body earlier, just wanted to put down a couple things.

I too, want to congratulate Randy: YOU DA ' MAN :blast:

And it was good to see Scott King all the way from Kearney!

Dave: Thanks for the pic of Mishi, she sure looks better there than earlier in the day:Brow: , I sure looked good in her parents eyes: She's all but dying, and I gotta make the next round call:Dou:

But, in my defense, I had a great bunch around to take care of my baby:bglasses: and didn't get a:spank: for it either:jd:

Thanks to everybody that helped out and :spank: :spank: :spank: to the :moonu: hole in the digger!
HA, HA, HA LOSER!!!!! you only got what you deserved for sandbaggin'

EDIT: Flattering pic above, no reflection on subjects performance on track!:moonu: (Dave) :moonu: Am I really that big? No wonder my car is so slow!:3gears:

    Alert, Alert:

To all those that think this racing is for us old farts:

I think it is safe to say that Kevin had a :blast: at the races!

And I think his "Old Man" had just as much fun watching as he did driving.

What was his best time? Something in the 14.30 range?

Great job, Kevin. And may you have many years of safe racing ahead!

    Pics later(as they come available)!!
