It’s pretty cool that Big Pontiac probably was a 455 and sound could have stood on its own. The Lemans. Not so much.
What was the movie with James Tayler and I think a 55 Chevy all hollowed out that they drove cross country and drag raced for cash. It had 70 GTO Judge in it too. Was it "HotRod"?
Hate to sound old school but the book was way better. The story was set in Pittsburgh, and had it been filmed in mostly older, rougher parts of town (especially back in 1983), the the movie would have been a lot better. Maybe start the movie with a drunken jagoff steel worker falling into a molten ladle of steel? That could lend some "born with evil" as Christine moves down the assembly line watching with her mirror and ready to bite with her hood. Just this "Shitters" opinion LOL. Favorite line besides the "I wish I was an eraser.":
I'm not saying they're one of the best but I remember seeing Macon County Line and Return to Macon County. Couple guys street racing....man that was a long time ago.
My favorite " you can't polish a turd " Movie was great example of taking a dumb story and making a good flick.
An underrated choice would be Ronin Mostly because they beat the tar out of an Audi A8L, Mercedes 6.2 and other eurocars.
Jade has a great car chase, but the cars themselves suck though. Reviewers title is exactly why I liked it: https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1995-10-13-1995286156-story.html
Yes good movie but car was not an SD. It was a base 455. I think there are some shots of the hood scoop and you can see the 455 decal. SD cars were so rare that I doubt they could have spared any for the movie. That green was very rare in a Trans Am. Funny John Wayne calls it Tite green hornet.
