I dont know what it is about outdoor car shows and the color "Platinum Mist"....but they go well together!!!:laugh: Annual FCC car show in Midland, Texas today and my girl Misty got Best in Show....there were only 45-50 cars and of course mine and my little brothers were the only Buicks there, but we took top honors!:beer There was some really nice iron there, a couple of 65 AC Cobras, Blown Willis- vintage Mustangs Camaros (of course) and 3 Mopars- 1 -70 Hemi car, 3- 57 Belairs, custom choppers etc. Dont get me wrong, I know every chip and ding on my car, and after the Nationals this year there are several new ones...(not to mention the hunks of rubber I keep finding in every crevice) but people gravitate towards Buicks- they just dont get to see them. Anyway little bro was somewhat niffed, but in the last 4 outdoor shows I have gotten 3 B.I.S. and one Best in Class....something about that color and the good ole' natural sunlight!!!:kodak: I took some pictures before the show this morning- about 7:00am as the sun started hitting over the building across the street (while waiting for the rest of the gang to show up) and a couple at the show.....of course as I was leaving the show I left a pair of black streaks even Johnno would be proud of!!!:3gears: This post is my official answer to the post questioning "Why Buicks guys?" Gotta make more space on the office wall!
It is easy to understand the Best In Show as she is a very beautiful lady. You should be proud and keep on treating her right. Congrats.

Thats my little brother Tim's car. Its a 70 Skylark with the "Elenore" paint and GSX trim. Really cool car, drop spindles- 4-link with airbags out back- 4 wheel disc brakes-B&M quicksilver- racing buckets and aftermarket gauges etc...corners like it was on rails......BUT no power anything and no A/C or heater etc... Different strokes....same love for Buicks:beer
I have own 3 cars that color or close, 2 were brand new. A 66 Nova and a 67 GS and I painted a 59 Chevy Super Stock car I ran that color. I always like it but in the early days (before base/clear) it did not hold up very well. Jim N.
Great to hear Scott!!! We missed our local show a few weeks ago, had a race the same day, and we wanted to race the car. Hey, I think we are going to Abilene track for next Saturday race. You guys should head that way.

Abilene is running 1/8th mile IHRA points races on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is a make up race from earlier in the year. Two seperate races. Our Lubbock track announced they were closing last weekend, so we need to go somewhere. We are going down Friday night and race Saturday, then come back.
OK, the place that I keep all my car stuff.....and people call me between 8-5 if they need to reach me.....:moonu: ...and they pay me for showing up! cause after that I'm in the shop!:beers2:
