Ah, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Mopars are worth all the money, and the Buicks are worth pennies on the dollar. If your in the car hobby to make money, put your restoration money into a Mopar if you want to get it back out, and maybe even make money.

I think the Gold Stage 1 is a victim of being the wrong color, wrong option load. I think there are a few of us who dig a manual steering, manual brake, non-Air Buick because we know how uncommon it is to find one optioned like that. But to Mr. average Joe rich auction goer, if they are "thinking" about a Buick that they are going to drive and enjoy, they want Air Conditioning and some other luxury options, I mean after all it is a BUICK.

website says $175k, could be the $185k bid was cancelled?

    https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/FL0116-229893/0/1970-Buick-GS-Stage-1-Convertible/3-Speed/

Lot of money either way, given that the car is not a fresh restoration and is definitely showing some wear and tear, especially when you saw it next to the 4 speed stage 1 converts at MCaCN.

    BadBrad Got 4-speed?

To actually drive the $2.75 million 'cuda would your annual insurance bill be about $27,000? Just applying what seems a typical value/insurance ratio here.

Thanks guys. It was my Gsx that got $130k. Almost to my reserve of $135k so I let it go. Sad and happy at the same time. Crazy amount of pressure up there under the lights. Hi end dealer from Miami bought it so it will be re-sold. Sad part is I really don't think they really know what a technically correct gem that got. Maybe next buyer will and I will get some calls?
