I'm 30 and will turn 31 in Iraq. Make +$50g a year, house in SoCal and 2 kids, and I'm a reservist. Just a little back ground... My inlaws are very left wingnuts from LA. And I'm soo sick and tired or the left and moral right giving me crap for serving my country and doing my job (former Marine Corps Sniper and current Interrigator). First and foremost I'm not crusing for cudos or support for myself. You can hate me for what I do, what I've done and I am willing to do, and what I'm going to do. I do not give a flying f***. What I do want is people to take into consideration is the families. And not mine (wife is an x-jarhead, piss her off and your on your own :Brow: ). Most of those serving are young service members doing a job that YOU won't do or have your kids do. And their spoused are younger, 17-20, usually w/kids. You may not know they are there but they hear your comments and that hurts them and errodes their moral and support for their spouses. Don't thank a service member for their service and in the same conversation mention you would move to Canada if the draft started, so your teenager would not HAVE TO SERVE. If they dont say something, they are just being polite and calling you an A**H*LE in their head. Yes... I can hear the gasps, but I get it atleast once a week... When did military service become taboo??? I do not play Marine because the pay is great, or the benifits are awesome. He!! I loose money when I go on active duty... I do it because I love the Corps, and my country, and how can I ask someone else to do a job I'm quite capable of doing myself. And knowing what I know, it's not IF terrorists will attack again, its when. I would rather go over there and fight and die, if it need be to kept them OVERTHERE and not here. Let them kill the troops, overthere. Its our job... Better me overthere than your kids/my kids HERE, at the mall, school, daycare. Oh, wait its already happened... Colombine, Oklaloma City, LA... And these were just domistic terrorists w/o proper training. MMMMMMM... Sucide bomber, 20lbs of C-4 in your childs school or daycare... Very messy... Enough of my rant, lets piss somepeople off... There are three unarguable facts... One. This country was founded by a bunch of religous wackos. Don't read American history (got alittle bias to it). Read English history... You the man Woodie. As for the prison abuse, who gives a damn, we didnt chop off their heads, so they should quit crying. The way i see it is like this, if a man comes into your home and puts a gun to your wife or childs head are you gonna just pray and wait for god to judge him or are you gonna do your best to take him apart. I would rather see the whole middle east turned into a huge radioactive parking lot then ever see them jeopardise the life of one american child. Just once we should unleash on a country with everything our military has, let them see what it is like to mess with the greatest country on earth. As far as the prisoner abuse BS goes.... I have personally seen alot worse "abuse" at parties when I was of college age. If you were stupid enough to pass out you got the "works". :laugh: I suspect when the drunks woke up they would have gladly traded in the "abuse" they got for some panties on the head, a dog leash and an ugly ass girl pointing and laughing at there junk. :laugh: :grin: :eek2:
I am sorry if I have offended anyone here.Especially our members that are in the military. My point is that it was wrong for the Marine to walk over to the wounded Iraqi and just shoot him in the head,because of the Iraqi laying there faking that he was dead. I viewed the video that the tagalong journalist filmed and was appalled to see a member of our military cold heartedly just kill someone who apparently was unarmed. Sure,the Iraqi insurgents cold heartedly kill everyone that they can.We don't have to stoop down to their level,though.I believe that a person has a right to defend theirselves,even with deadly force. We shouldn't even be over there in Iraq.What did Iraq have to do with 9/11? Nothing. Now,it has been over 2 years since "mission accomplished". Been over 4years since the start of this 'war'and still,no Bin Laden. Now it looks like we are in Iraq for the LONG haul,Just like Viet Nam.
Quick question, do you honestly believe that the war will suddenly be over and we'll not have to deal with islamic extremists when they pull Bin Laden out of some cave in Pakistan? Whether you agree with the war in Iraq or not, the fact is, as long as our boys are over there killing the terrorists in large numbers, the terrorists will not be over hear killing us in large numbers.
