Sold as Jeep parts. :Do No::Dou: Offy duel plane 4bbl intake. set of headers 2x3 and a new 450 Holley.Plumbed the duel exhaust out the sides and it sounded like crap. Pretty sure the manifold needs to be planed . Building the throttle linkage was a pain. Maybe in the near future I'll get back into it.

good . thats a pretty solid motor . and "jeep" so parts availability isn't terrible . i think chrysler used to make an EFI conversion for the older stuff .

jim - don't bust yer butt . in a week or so ( approx. mid april ) ill be looking at a few - one in south PA I hope and some down around NC .
yours has good "character" to it and I'm lovin' the big block part - but - its twice as far almost plus by heading south I've got more choices in a small area .
I would still be interested in pics though . heck , throw some pics up here in "cars for sale" , never know . might be some north country buicks lookin for a tow rig .

got one . thanks for all the clues n leads guys . just back , unloaded and beat .
since the main truck I was interested in was in charlotte direction - but sold a couple days before I left - I took a chance and headed towards Lexington , ky . there was a 69 383 in Columbus anyway to look at . the CL ad was one pic , short description so it was off my radar until I finally got ahold of the guy . real nice guy , truck was pretty much as described to me . of course its never as cherry as you hope but better than I realistically expected . he and his brother were super good guys , helped me out with the tow dolly wiring on the truck end and carted me all over town - dmv , uhaul joint , bought me lunch etc . I could not wiggle price but he showed me his paperwork on it , he wasn't makin anything . best part was wherever we went in town it was like they were the "good ol duke boys" - all the dmv girls and waitresses knew em , school kids yelling at em outa the bus windows , every yahoo with a 4wd or kid on a bike would stop and talk or at least yell something at em . nice big garage full of dogs and people stopping by . pretty high comfort level .
drove my 177,000 mile neon down - 31 mpg ! and that was with a little fill neck gas leak . my 44,000 mile truck got 10 mpg towing . not a shock . needs a good tune ( cold blooded and not as much power as it should have ) and new valve cover gaskets for a pesky oil leak . and shocks and a better tire balance . but underhood looks pretty original . even has OEM top radiator hose and mopar part number sticker on carb . interior like new .
1984 D150 , 360 with thermoquad ( yikes - see tune notation above ), 727 , 3:21 8-1/4 rear , now has 44,000+ miles . very rust free underneath , drove ok , did not over heat and all gauges stayed normal lookin . gameplan for this summer is to just give it a quick wash n wax , tinker when needed , use it , then winter storage , major clean up and maybe a few improvements etc .
that rest stop/welcome center is the chataqua ( I know I did not spell that correctly ) in western ny off #86 ( old route #17 ) eastbound a little ways after the PA border . nice stop , good scenery .

yeah - decent color combo , a little push-in spot on LF fender and some scratches and parking lot dings but OEM paint and straight . the bed has been used so the paints worn but no rough spots or rust . I am not in love with those side moldings but they pretty much all had 'em . we used to have problems with the black peeling away from the chrome . i'll have to keep my eyes open for some better lookin wheels . the paint is dusty and a little dull but a quick clean up , a coat of wax and a little tire shine will do wonders .
it was kinda at the top of my budget but with no rust and no depreciation its worth taking care of . and it'll be handy . plus under the radar as far as emission equipment .
edit : took tow dolly back this am - on the way back got a better evaluation empty , only took a short test drive down there . much better - quiet , decent power , cruise even works and was rockin" that original am/fm .
