Very helpful as always.
Thank you Larry
Here the fried wire near the fusible link...
Just need to clean the fusible link wire to see what color they are.
The main feed wires are 10 and 12 gauge. The fusible links are 14 and 16 gauge.
That correct Larry. Each fusible link wire is colored coded Brown 14 and Black 16. dont want to confuse the two when i get the links tomorrow.
Ok, Links installed correctly and still no change. Where do i go from here???? Chasing shorts is not my strong suit. LOL
There really isn't too much that can go wrong as long as the fusible links are good. The two main feed wires with fusible links go on the main lug of the starter solenoid along with the + battery cable. As long as the connections are good at the battery and starter, and the battery - is grounded, you should have power. If not, unwrap the engine harness and trace the main feed wires back to the firewall. I'm thinking this is something obvious that you will find.
Is "chasing shorts" anything like "chasing skirts"?
Yes! It can be seemingly futile at times.
So Larry then maybe stop chasing shorts....hahaha
We are talking about electrical shorts here Bruce, at least I am. Something you want to tell us?
All I can tell ya is that I've got plenty of experience chasing both........
Lol...Thanks guy, I really needed that laugh. I've had issues with shorts but have better myself on skirts.
Just an update:
