My prayers and condolences to the Kemper family. John was a good man and sent me SunCoupe info a few times just because he had it to share. One of a kind, and he will be missed.
Saw it on our local news. Salutes to To John for his unselfish service to St Louis and to the Buick community. Condolences to his family.
As you can see, I'm new to the v8 page, I spoke to John Tuesday evening regarding last weekends bca nationals in WI. John was curious to see how my car showed and wanted to see photos of my current projects 1970 convertible and 67 sport wagon. He never spoke of his injuries , just wanted to talk about our Buicks and asked why I never registered on the v8 page which I did from my phone at work that evening. I saw the news of his passing on my phone at work the following evening. He was never one to hold back information and a great asset in the building of my car. He would make a 40 mile trip to check on its progress and to give constructive criticism or give his advise when needed. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed. He spoke of retiring this fall. and spending more time attending regional and national meets as well as time with his family. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and anyone who had the opportunity to meet him.
I am at a loss for words. I remember John and I trailering my 71 GSX to the GSX reunion back in 2009. What a great time!! Being busy with kids and life, I last spoke to him about 6 months ago. Such a great friend. Just a sad reminder that life is fragile...give your kids and wife a big hug tonight. Remember his family in your prayers.
I bought a few parts from him over the years. good guy for sure.. maybe we can set up some sort of donation page. as a Buick group we can give his wife or his fire department a pretty good chunk..
GOD BLESS JOHN'S FAMILY,so many many times we shot the buick BS at BG nats, thank you JOHN for your service to St.Louis and our Country, your times at BG are priceless, and will never be forgotten ,I cannot believe this has happened,MAY GOD COMFORT THE KEMPER FAMILY.

I never had the pleasure to meet John but this news of the loss of a respected member of the Buick brotherhood hurts. God bless John and his family.
Unfortunately I cannot make it due to a doctor's appointment. I hope a number of Buicks show up to honor John and his family.
It was an honor to be asked by the Kemper Family to be a part of Fire Captain John Kemper's procession today. May he rest in peace. Again,I offer condolences and prayers to the Kemper Family, friends and to the St Louis Fire Department. I have to add, the St Louis Fire Department is a class act. I was treated like family at this very sad time. Thanks too, to the Buick Community that were able to attend. It was a hot ride in the SunCoupe and AC repair has moved a little higher up on the list of things to do. It was over 100 degrees today here in the Lou. I wish I would have gotten a pic of a very nice Convertible Wildcat that was also in attendance. I believe it was a 1970? [/ATTACH]
