Oh my, I just was there at the fire house a few short months ago. We visited for a couple of hrs. So sad he was a Great person and would help anyone out. He will surely be missed. He had a lot of stories and would have you busting a gut laughing. Life is so short.

Just found out this minute....What a loss. Prayers for his family. May he rest in peace.
I met John through this forum when I learned we lived just a few miles from each other.
John was a great guy, and so close to retirement......So sad.
We've lost a great Buick member and friend.
    RIP John.

    Brian.

What!!!! Wow did not expect to see this. We did some trading and he helped me on a few projects. He will be missed on here. I would sometimes get a message meant for him as our board names were close Staged70.

Truly a sad day for the Buick brotherhood. I never met John personally, but we spoke several times by phone and he was very instrumental helping me get the XGS back together. He spent a lifetime helping others both in and out of the fold. GODSPEED and prayers sent, John... ws

I am literally stunned...........I sent him a follow up to a conversation we had been having just today!
One of my other messages I was wishing him a Happy 4th and telling him what a good friend I considered him to be and thanked him for how unbelievably generous he had been.
He ALWAYS sent extra stuff he knew I was looking for along with my purchases for free in shipments just because he was a stand up good and generous man.I am totally confused as he just PM'd me yesterday about a part he was trying to find for me.
    This is just crushing.......
Terry my deepest condolences & prayers for the entire family.
    John was the BEST

Fritz - you are so right. John was the best. Always had time to help a Buick brother out, and was enthusiastic about it. From what I am hearing now, he passed due to injuries from a fire. He was a fire fighter in the city of St. Louis.

Wow, this is truly tragic news. I had some dealings with John, he was always a pleasure to talk with and a great part of the Buick community.

Condolences to the Kemper family, he will be missed by many.

I am sorry to post twice on this type of thread but being as the next thing I expected to hear John's name associated with was a continuation of our talks on the trials of elderly parents and the inevitable discussion on Buicks.

I am still in shock as I have a PM from him from just YESTERDAY. So here he was HURT and did not even mention it because he was more interested in helping a friend? HOW MANY , people are you blessed to know that were that unselfish? I know I cannot count many at all.

Every shipment I got from John was like a gift from a loving relative. We would talk on the phone and most times without me knowing it, he would get me on a roll on my cars future plans and secretly doing it mainly to identify something he knew he had in his collection. When the shipment was close to arriving he would text me or call me and tell me to check the boxes carefully because he had thrown "a little something extra in there"for me. Not talking about little things either, a set of NICE 70 headlight bezels for my car, expensive suspention parts and on and on. He was like a Grandparent or someone who just plain and simple made you feel better in a world way too busy for such thoughtful gestures.
I caught him picking my brain one day for a surprise item to send and told him he didn't have to keep doing that and he just told me "John, a long time ago there was a man that did the same thing for me and I was so impressed I decided to carry that tradition on".
Then he was out risking his neck as a public servant and revered enough to reach the rank of Captain and in the course of fulfilling that obligation gave the ultimate sacrifice for the final time for others?
In my book that is Greatness, and I am both honored and blessed to have known him if even in a small way.

God bless you, John and praying for you Terry
