5k was the low end...loaded over 6k in 1970.... the only more expensive car from gm was a loaded caddy............... :Smarty:
Mine was only $4,893.22 The GSX option was $1195.87, which included the 4 speed. The only added options were the Stage 1, power steering, tinted windshield, AM radio and rear speaker! What more could anyone want!!!! Whoever ordered our X had one thing in mind...pavement ripping power. How cool is that. The original owner would be happy to know the GSX they ordered is still on the road, unrestored and actually still looking good on the street and strip! I wish I could track down that original owner and send them a picture of the car today. Paul :3gears:
We have owned two Xs both of which we between 5 and 5.5K but if you added cruise control, power seats etc it would drive the price up to around 6K. That was a lot relative to a Chevrolet back in 1970.
My '72 optioned out GS Stage1 has a sticker of $5,901.33. It's loaded, only missing......Cruise and P/Locks. TUFBUICK
My 71 GSX 350 with no options except, sport mirrors, bumper guards, P. steering, P. drum brakes, rear speaker, F&R floor mats, and in dash Tach/gauges sold new for $4812.00 which to me was big money for a 350 non-AC car. It didn't even come with a front spoiler. Duane
