Well everybody there's no easy my to say it but I am turning my ZX2 into a Rice Killer. ON the outside the body will look pretty much stock the inside will have custom lighting, but under the hood will got a SVT intake maniflod and header custom exauhst and better CV joints and all it will take to make a lot of HP.

    whats your Idea

Well, the more power you can make the better. I like a little fried rice every now and again myself.

Like I have said before...Nitrous! Superchargers are too much $$ for what you get. Turbo's are great but they require some know how and tuning. Don't forget about that "turbo lag". I looked into this a year ago and it penciled out that nitrous was cheapest and easiest to install. If you sell the car it's easier to remove too. You could fill alot of nitrous bottles with the 3,000.00 plus you would spend on any other type of power adder. :Smarty:

For an engine like that... either the nitrous idea (especially if you're on a budget) or an engine swap (costs a little more but the gains are pretty decent) ... your Zx2 should accept just about any swap that the ZX3(Focus) will take... which means that the european Escort (or RS) turbo engine will swap in. I believe a guy around here did it for ~3000 and is now into the 13's...

Not my personal taste, but whatever makes ya happy. Here's my suggestions:

I'd scrap the interior lighting. If you are TRULY building a sleeper you'll want to eliminate as much weight as possible. In fact, you'll probably want to strip most of the interior out without giving away your secret:

Carpet underlay, door & frame noise insulation, dash & firewall insulation, rear tray framing, dash framing, door guts, rear seats, clip out passenger seat, battery over passenger wheel, fuel cell.

Sorry, maybe I'm old. I'm still trying to figure out what a ZX2 is. :puzzled:

If it's rice, be it foreign or domestic, I wouldn't waste a dime trying to make it fast. But that's just me. You asked for opinions. :error: :Do No: :beer

Domestic rice. It's a model of a Ford Escort. If I didn't get my free Geo, I was going to ask my boss if I could demo the tan ZX2 in the lot. It's been there longer than i have (over a year) and no one has even looked at it.

    Hmmm,
I could see a nice 3.8 V-6 out of a Mustang going into this car, maybe a set of headers and dual exhaust. I'm sure it would fit with a little minor trimming here and there. That would give you a little extra HP, and just thing of the torque gain!!!!

I seem to remember at one point in time mentioning that the best way to build a 12-second Honda was to just tow it with an 11-second Buick. A little extra weight shouldn't slow down the Buick all that much.

    :)
