My GREEN interior on my GREEN wildcat sure does look similar -- i.e. the carpet, steering wheel, roof, and dash. See the attached photos.

The seats look buckskin, yeah, but the rest of it -- I'm voting green.
I figure it started out like my wildcat, andd got a repaint long ago (or recently) to a far sexier brown. I asked the dude to send me the trim tag info.

Anyone notice the styling after-market cruise control? This car is far more messed with than the owner is letting on.

: ) better not only get your computer screen checked, have you been checked for colorblindness. Your Wildcat has the custom interior, it only came in Sandalwood (beige) the only green available on the wildcat in 69 was the base cloth interior which doesn't match yours. Also the Riv is not brown at all but burgandy mist, shame the owner doesn't know what color his car is. :Do No:

Looks good to meactually, the colour seems right. Looks pretty clean, the engine is a trouble spot, looks like he tossed the 430 valve covers and air filter on.

I'm concerned it's a lo comp 455. I've asked him for the engine code and told him where to find it.

That interior is surely buckskin. Have 3 Sportwagons and a 69 225 with that color interior. It reacts funny when photographed and can give the appearance of a light green. Looks even more green when seen through tinted glass.
Am very familiar with Burgundy Mist too as my 69 Stage 1 is that color. Under certain light conditions it will look redish or even dark maroon. Hard color to photogragh properly.
Looks like a nice car, but wonder about the motor swap to a 455. Must have broken something along the line somewhere.

    Just my 2 cents,
    Mark

This Riv has the "custom strato expanded vinyl notch back bench seat" whew! say that three times fast. The only colors available were buckskin, pearl white, red, black or green. The dash pad is light green which is the correct color. Carpets are "fawn". The top is called parchment. I have the same color interior and top on my Riv as this car. Only difference being mine is a light green exterior. There are very few exterior color choices that can go with that color interior. You mainly have to stick with earth tones. I think the burgundy mist really looks good. If the car was light green originally, I cant blame the guy for changing it.

    No Way is it green

Green Trim 680 was way to dark to show up this light plus the Instrument panel would be dark green, steering wheel dark green, carpet dark green and headliner green, all out of the color and trim manual This is buckskin 686 without question Instrument panel dark sandalwood, steering wheel dark sandlewood, carpeting dark sandalwood, headlining Buckskin Burgandy Mist was an acceptable color with 686 also That top is also way to dark for parchment, agin Buckskin Code 4

No wonder your wives have to lay your clothes out for you :Dou:

All I know that my interior is buckskin and my dash is light green. Buick may have had another name for it, but its light green.

I love this site!!!! This is just the type of debate that can help someone make up their mind on something that can have some hidden/funny stuff going on.
For 5K I wasn't really worried about the incorrect engine but as it climbs I'd start to be more picky. I haven't seen any 69 rivs in good shape go for under that. What's a good price for for a Riv like this?

Just look along the edge of the intake manifold. Is that a low compression air rail I see?

Very nice looking car--just be careful on this one--lots of changes for a supposed 33k car.......and....they "rebuilt" the motor recently---did they forget to paint the motor when they rebuilt it!!??? Look at that intake--they gave it such "care" yet the detail you would expect from such careful people is not there on the motor. On the plus side they are allowing the buyer to reject the deal once the buyer has a chance to look at the car--with only a $500 deposit it could be worse.

If there is nothing fishy, I'd say 7000 or a little more. But I think something is fishy. If the motor broke early, why didnt they just fix it?

Okay, I stand (or, more, accurately, sit) corrected. but then again, no one else quite got the paint color right either.

Trim tag indicates 85 D for paint -- copper mist poly. So the car is probably the original color with a repaint.

Trim tag indicates 686 for trim -- buckskin bench seats.

Still gotta wonder about the dash, and yeah, maybe I got monitor problems, who knows.

And I still wouldn't touch it -- same money will get you a correct car with the correct engine and more options any day of the week.

It is a little funny that we can have a 4 page discussion about what the correct color should be on a 69 Buick! I enjoy it! :beer
