The wife is giving me dirty looks and has promised to rip me a new one if I buy this but I may go ahead and take an a$$ whipping anyway. :spank: Riv
I saw this car yesterday on e-bay and WOW :3gears: I think this is one of the best color schemes I have seen in a long time! Sweeeet.
That is one swwweeeettttt Riv. I'd jump in on that but i don't like living in the dog house. I just got a 66 lark and a 66 GS this year one more and she would kill me.
Take the Spanking ..... Shweet ! I'd take the spanking and take her out in dinner in it ! :3gears: :TU:
"ask the man who owns one" I think that was a sales slogan for Packards......Rick, thats a nice car. I would seriously look into it. What I did find curious was the color scheme. Its got a green dash with a buckskin interior. It seems odd that Buick would use that exterior color with that interior color scheme. I have the same interior, but my exterior color is code 59 Lime green (it looks better than it sounds). I wonder if thats the original color? Good luck! Jason
That's what I'm thinking, How mad can she get??? She can't throw me out again!!!!! I'll have to see where this one goes. :Brow:
Buy it! I saw it last week and was so convinced I was going to buy it... I cant, must fix other car, must concentrate... That is probably better than a new car, get it.
Low miles AND the wrong engine? It has a 1970 455, and only 33,000 miles on the car? That don't add up. Or at least it adds up to "I'll avoid lying by sounding like I don't know what really went on." Plausible deniability at it's best. Realistically, the thing has 133,000 miles on it; the interior would still look mint as long as it was cared for / gararged. Plus, it probably started out light green. That would explain the GREEN roof, GREEN dash, GREEN steering wheel, and GREEN carpeting. Probable history: The car started to rust and the engine blew up, some dude got it cheap, dropped a new mill in it and repainted it. Years later the current owner gets ahold of it, fixes up whatever needs fixing, races it for a while, realizes the engine and tranny are on their last legs due to his abuse, and off it goes to e-bay. The description of the engine mods, and the big speakers on the back deck, make it sound like it has been driven hard. Plus "AC blows cool but needs recharging" makes no sense and is just a sugar-coated lie that means "expect to replace the compressor, drier, condensor, and god knows what else." The same price will get you an unmolested one just as nice with correct paint a correct engine, correct low mileage, and a few more options. I love 69 Rivs, but no way in hell I'd touch that one. -- Steve
? Just a quick question from a casual observer... Anyone else notice the ad says it has a 455 but the air cleaner (decal?) says 430-4?
Now that, that's been said this subject matter is over. I love it straight forward and right from the hip. :TU:
