I'll start out with a simple one

    Hey Darryl,

The short anwser is YES. It fits both SBB & BBB. BUT (always a butt) there is a bit more too it. I'm currently fitting my 455 with the serp system, a GN Turbo set-up and blow thru carb, w/intercooler. This whole mess goes into my GN clone.

There are a couple threads that go into detail on how this all works together.

The bad thing is that the HEI is way too big to fit with the serp system. So you end up with a couple options.

    1. Small cap points distributor & remote coil. Put a Pertonix in it & your fine.

    2. Use a Ford EDIS-8 set-up, 36-1 reluctor wheel & a cam sensor for a 231 turbo car in place of the distributor. I'm working on doing this right now, check out the turbobuick.com site, under V8 Hybrids. I have a post under "megasquirt questions" by GSjimmy1.

You will find that that the points dist with a pertronix and coil will be underpowered for the cylinder pressures. I tried it and it was borderline. I had to gap the plugs really small. I'm using a Mallory box with the Pertronix as a trigger..

This setup works really well. I can run 34* initial with 10* start retard and pull 1* per pound of boost. No mechanical, no vacuum advance.

Jim, are you going sequential? If not you don't need a cam sensor. just the crank sensor.

I'll have to check out the turbobuick site about your megasquirting.

Need the cam sensor to drive the oil pump right now. Can then upgrade to sequential at a later date.
