Yes.....Richard got us all started in this Buick obsession of ours and i appreciate all he has done. I have much enjoyed the GS Nationals EACH and EVERY year for the past 29 years straight........Thank You Richard :TU: Peace WildBill
Wild Bill? There is nothing on this earth that can hold him he must be allowed to ascend to his rightful place among the stars or in a space ship traveling the universe. Who knows there maybe a Wildcat Nailhead drivetrain in his personal spacecraft Peace brother Bill and I'llsee you in BG or maybe BPG if I can get the time off
Here's a few pictures of Jim's car. Notice in the engine bay shot, you can see where he waxed through the paint & can see the primer. Also, an early shot of Dinosaur. Before the tubs & lime green paint.
Here's a few pictures from the 1985 Car Review Magazine Musclecar Nationals in Cypress Gardens, FL. Ol' Blue, Richard & son and me AND Roy Badie with his Hemi Cuda. Notice Roy's t-shirt... Plus, Roy's GTX...
Thanks Mike B...awesome pics...somewhere I have pics of Dino in red primer from the bop meet on atl. Wish I could scan all my old pics... Killer thread btw Wayne...Fish
Actually I think that is a Guy named Gary Guido. See on the door up top there. I remember because my brother was with me at that Nats and he got a big kick out of the last name Guido. Duttweilers car didn't have much for sponsor decals on the side though I do remember it leaving very hard and very twisted. Here is a pic of Jay Vanous and Rusty Wilbanks. They are to the left. I am looking for one of their '67. Actually Janice and Lawrence Conley are there too. This was at one of our Texas Events. Pam and Jerry Burger are there in the middle too. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/...m the Past/EnnisBuickEvent/awardPmanJerry.jpg
Thanks Rob. My nominees would be; 1) My dad, Norm Dihle, for all the help he tried to give club members over the years, he never kept 'secrets' 2) Fred Catlin 3) Rich Lassiter for all the work he did to advance the Buick GS 4) John Chamberlain Many more great people also deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
I'd have to add Rod Hendrickson, someone who spends that much time and money to make a blown Buick run like it does deserves inclusion (IMO) He could have easily stuck a big Chevy or Hemi in there but still bangs it out wiith a Buick! That Regal (?) just looks so mean and the sound it makes :beers2:
I do believe you're right. Looking close, I see "Gary Guido" on the top of the door and "Ken Duttweiler Race Engines" below. That's where I made my mistake. Mike
That car was loud! with the header extentions coming out the side. Saw it run many times at our local track.
Thanks John.....but i can't think of what i've done to get me in the "Hall of Fame" :Brow: See you all at the 2011 GS Nationals in beautiful Bowling Green Kentucky :TU: Peace WildBill
Duane Heckman X-Camino and all the rules for car show judging. Dave Kliener for all the Concours restored car that have made a presence at the GS Nationals. Mike Tomezuski for the Buick Wagon and all the Buick 455 speed parts and technology. Casper Electronics Turbo Charged V6 Cobra - Way cool. Mark
My absolute best Buick friend Roberta Vasilow has been at every GS Nationals since the mid/late 80's. :TU: Peace WildBill
The car on the left..............................regardless of what anybody says... that is the car that put the BUICK steadily on the performance map and carried the torch.
