I showed him what a real burnout was, now I need a new tire!

I was "frustrated" earlier today and proceeded to lay about a block's worth of rubber down the street. My neighbor remarked later that he "didn't think that car could do that". :laugh: :3gears:

 

I've told this tale before but I like it.

I was cruising my '66 LeSabre home from work one day last summer or the summer before, my mufflers were shot and the thing idled a bit bad but sounded like it had a huge cam in it. I had the window down and I pull up at some red lights on a two lane road. I'm in the right lane. A VW Golf or something like that pulls up in the left lane also window down. Now remember I live in the UK so I am side by side with the driver of the RHD VW in my LHD Buick so its easy to talk. Also people thing a 1.8 liter car is "big" here and this guys car was like a 1.2 or 1.4 liter. He's a young lad maybe 17 or 18 with his (rather cute) honey in the passenger seat. He says

Him: "Man that car is HUGE"
Me: "Yeah"
Him: "Whats it like a V6 or something?"
Me: "V8"
Him: "No way, thats cool, thats like 3 liters or something?"
Me: "5.5 liters"
Him: "Wow wow no way do they make engines that big man?"
Me: "They did a 7.6 liter"
Him: "Wow, no way, thats crazy, man"
Me: "Its true."
Him: "So is it fast?"

Just at this point I saw the light go green so I stamped the gas and banged the foot brake so I did a quick peg leg burn of my old 225 right rear, enough to plume a little smoke and then was off the brake and the old beast roared out across the intersection, not real fast, but with the right rear spinning like crazy and smoke everywhere. I look behind in the mirror and the kid is just sitting there at the lights with his jaw dropped so its about hit his lap and the car behind honking the horn! Made me feel like I'd done some education even if I only left one black stripe when I went.

10 years ago that tire would atleast lived another 50 feet worth of burnout
