Congratulations, Paul! If you don't do a frame-off, maybe you'll be at Jimmy's cookout this summer. I would actually love to see it just as it is. I've had my '66 since 1974 and it was missing everything even back then! Your pics have been very helpful.

  2. David,

If you need more pics of something specific, let me know.

fourfiftyfive My car is a mess........

Had the chance to get one of those "yellow skylarks" a few years back, when I lived in north carolina... It was a VERY straight and clean GSX stage 1 auto car or just the best damn clone I've ever seen. The guy wanted just south of 10 grand. It just needed some work to get it to cruiser quality. I just simply couldn't afford it, but the other guy who was there to look at it seemed like he knew his stuff, so I don't have much doubt it went to a good home.

I knew of another one when I was a little kid... it was sitting under a tarp in my friend's father's barn, tail end sticking out. That poor car was in sad shape, but about 5-6 years later it was sold (not junked). I have a photographic memory and I can still picture where that car was, with the brown tarp pulled over to show the driver side corner from the rear wheel back. My friend and I weren't allowed near it but the rotted 70's mercedes next to it was open for us to play in.

  4. So I've started tearing into this project. Thought I'd show everyone some pics of the progress so far:

Paul, isn't it amazing the condition of these two cars from the west? I've tinkered with the 4-speed car over the summer and have it running.I started to redo the brakes and the stuff was comming apart with a open end wrench! Tom

  10. You're right. It should be noted this entire car came apart with ratchets and box wrenches.

I'll post more pics when I make some more progress.
