I had to cut the tubing and make some beads at the end of the tubes, I used a bead roller.

David, great work. Wish I could weld like that. Fram filter:laugh:

I mounted my pump at about the same height as yours. That is higher than recommended. Use a check valve on the line from the tank and you will save your pump.

On that 650 QF order some .030 and .032 idle feed restrictors or you will never get it to idle anything but pig rich. Plan dropping a bunch of jet sizes on the primary side just to start with. I am going to have to steal your tube routing off of the blower. Like it a lot better than mine. You 350 guys have so much more room above the carb, I am jealous.

Thanks a lot for the advices,
I will order this check valve : http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AEI-15107/ I hope it will do the job.

Concerning the tubing, I ordered a U tube (with a low radius) for the supercharger exit ( http://www.siliconeintakes.com/prod...d=826&osCsid=4d849b656ce2a94a3f8886973c6368fc ) and an universal piping kit for the rest ( http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CXR&Category_Code=PIPK ). I only had to recut two pipes and made a bead at the end with a bead roller.

I will still need to cut the inner brace of the hood just above the outlet carb hat....and I hope that I won't have to cut the hood !! (otherwise I will ned a cowl hood scoop !!).

---------- Post added at 09:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 AM ----------

I have deleted the inner left headlight, replaced by a Spectre funnel , the airfilter will move behind it and I will use a flexible to connect to the supercharger inlet. Your heat shield is too blink-blink for me !!! lol

    Thanks,

The actual engine in the car has a bone stock long block, I only changed the intake (TA Performance) , added headers and MSD ignition.

I have a second 350SBB, with a little work on the heads that needs to be improved, that engine will receive a special cam for boosted Buick and some mods to improve HP. But that's another story....

    Concerning my first road tests;
I changed the jets on my carb, but I found that I have a lack of power at round 3000 RPM, the car engine seems to hesitate before the secondaries open. Then it's full boost, I jump to 10 PSI...
I checked my carb tanks level and at idle it appears I was too low, so I raised the level at mid high (small windows on the carb sides) and I will try it on the road asap....

Otherwise, the Buick is very fun to drive, when I have boost at 10 PSI it feels like that will never stop accelerating... :Brow:

I experienced my first blown hose as I went to 12.5 PSI during a hard drive session....I checked all the clamps and they were not all fully tighten ...

More to come, with I hope a small video ...

Do you have a wideband 02 sensor??

  13. macbuick

    macbuick David

    I have a O2 sensor but it's not a wideband, it's the Edelbrock model.

When I'm in "DRIVE" and I accelerate, the engine seems to "hesitate" , it looks like there is a lack of power...like small misfires....of lack of fuel....
When I'm in "1" or "2", I can accelerate hard without any problem , it pulls very well ....:Do No:

What is the boost level when this occurs?? Hmm.. What's your plug gap?? Try gapping them to.025 if they are wider

Did you go through my thread on carb tuning?http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?239017-Blow-through-carb-thread

    Things we need to know.
Idle vacuum, cruise vacuum, timing and curve, fuel pressure, AFR's, RPM, converter stall, gear ratio. I am still struggling with part throttle acceleration, my power valves do not open until full throttle. Never hesitates just gets very lean.

Get a wideband 02 meter before you damage something!

nice cruise on sunday, I will have to mount an engine oil radiator as oil reachs 240F as soon as I drive a little fast....water ils all good with maximum of 180F.

Wide band is on my wish list with the oil cooler, vacuum gauge (I already have an electrical on dash but impossible to tune the car with it) and bleed jets....

David, did you clone my interior? You do have your tack on the wrong side though (actually I am thinking of switching mine to the right side.)
It is pretty funny how close our setups look. The 350 does give you more room for carb hat and spacer. It must be very cool to have what is probably to only supercharged Buick 350 in Europe.

Did the VW driver manage to stay on the road when you went by?

Indeed I must be the one and only Procharged SBB on this side :TU:

The driver of the VW convertible is a girl, we were on our way to make a BBQ by her house, sadly I didn't drove the road with my aircooled friends beetles (parked behind my Buick on the picture) as one of them had a fuel leak problem and they had to solve it before leaving ! The first one is a 1958 model with a Turbocharged 1915cc of 209HP, the second, a 1954, has a 2332cc of 198HP...
