70 stage 1 coupe blue w/ white vinyl top blue interior bench seat 4 speed non air 3.64 posi manual brakes manual steering Just curious...a friend of mine has owned the above since 1973. Thank you.
Unfortunately, the daily car reports won't drill it down like that. We can tell you how many blue ones, or how many stage 1 4 speeds. How many were built exactly like that? With the amount of options and choices available, I think there were very few GS's built exactly the same way if at all
Does it have any rare options to narrow it down further? Speed alert? Heavy Duty Cooling? Is it Stratomist blue? If so, your number would be between 1 and 39. Blue bench seat (interior code 121), would be between 1 and 106.
Very neat car! Would love to see some pics & or paperwork. Suprising someone sprung for the vinyl & not a white painted top. IMHO, 1 of 1 if you drill down far enough. Probably still 1 of 1 w/o drilling down very far (i.e. just what you listed). Of the 664 (?) '70 Stage 1 4-sp, most had either power brakes (disk or drum) &/or PS. Maybe a few in that body/top color/base interior combo. Anecdotally, I've owned 2 w/factory manual steering & both had/have factory disk brakes. The one I owned w/manual brakes had PS. I know of a blue one w/o either but has buckets & a black top. There was/is a blue one for sale awhile back w/o either & had a black bench & either black or no vinyl (I have the Wayne Roberts on it somewhere). Don (@dl4664? - He's not on here much if at all anymore) has a blue one that a friend of mine owned since we were teenagers before selling it to him & pretty sure it had PS & buckets. I'll have to ask him or Don.
There was one for sale at the nationals many years ago...survivor car EXACTLY how you described with the standard interior
As deep as the daily reports go: 782 ST1 4sp 193 ST1, 4sp, AC That leaves 589 ST1, 4sp w/o AC (coupes, not convertibles)
Sold one a few years back. 70 stage 4 speed. Diplomat blue blue bucket seats. Black vinyl top no a/c no p/s manual drum brakes no console. Never researched the production numbers on it
Hey Chris, how many 1970 Stage 1 cars were built (including 4-speeds & TH400's) in total? How many Sport coups, GS 455's were built in 1970? Were there any Sport coups, GS 455's built with a 4-speed? Was it even an option? I wonder how many 1970 GS 455's in Gulfstream blue with Glacier White Top were made? I know I haven't seen hardly any, another reason why I like mine. Rare paint scheme. VET (Navy)
Nah this one was longer ago than that....04ish....painted white top...standard blue interior...low mileage car
I recall Duane had a nice blue 4 speed car he sold at nats back around 2000. I don’t recall it having a painted top though.
. buy this guide and you will know what I know: https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/1968-1972-gs-production-total-guide.341719/page-5
I didn't realize (or forgot) they were rarer than Stage 1 4-sp. Looked @ one a long time ago that I should've bought.
Are you kidding me, I don't have enough years left to do that. LoL I emailed Mike 5 minutes ago to order his 1968-1972 GS Production Total Guide. Hope he has some more left. VET PS, Thanks for the tip, didn't know Mike did that too, he did my MSRP window sticker. The man is amazing, did a fantastic job. I asked him what other custom Buick items he does. I might be letting lose some more $$$.
WoW, Cjay. Had no clue. Haven't seen a 4-speed GS Hardtop 455 yet. I'm hoping to go to the 2024 Nats, but that's a very long trip for me at my age (75), over 600 miles. Vet
My pops 70 is a triple black non stage 4speed...only option was power steering..hoping to get it in the 11s this year
