I will (hopefully) Be running my 16 (15 if I'm lucky) second "hot" rod at the track this summer. Maybe I can beat stock Honda's

Buicks look so good jumping off the line... that coming from a handling man!

12s should be more than attainable with the right gear and the power you've got.

I know my Olds 307 had 140hp and somewhere around 200ft/lbs of torque. That was in an 85 Riviera.

I am hoping to run in the 13's with my 71.I have a 70 315 hp 350 for a base with a Poston GS118 cam.I did my own 3 angle valve job with some mild gasket porting too.Am going to run the stock intake due to low funds but it too has been cleaned up a bit.I am running an 800 quad with an MSD ignition. It has a set of TA 1 3/4 headers with a 3 inch TA exhaust.I currently have a 4 speed with 3.42 rear but want to get a set of 3.90 gears a little later on.Am also going for a TA aluminum intake later this summer.I haven't run this car yet or started it yet,but I don't think 13's are too out of reach.I had the same drivetrain in my 70 car and ran 14.50s in it.That engine was a total stock 72 motor though, with an MSD ignition. No other mods to it.

well kenny i have the same things you got but i will not be going through the wxhaust i will be running at the track with open headers, plus Im fully ported and polished, and probably 11:1 or 12:1 and the dyno says i will be running 12's then 11's when i hit the nos, going by what you got i should do well:TU:

Its been a while but I remember seeing in HotRod or other car mag a 4 speed clutchless tranny for like $2500 or less that can take up to like 1000 HP TQ. Course you need a clutch for the launch but the rest of the gear are wide open no clutch shifts.

If anything you could learn to drive sideways.

    Matt :puzzled:

Any word yet on what the HP of my 80 Buick 350x is:confused:

    Hey Josh,
I'm just up the road from you in Ephrata. With you being maybe an hour from Cecil County and 45 minutes from Maple Grove you ought to take that beast out for one of the Friday night test & tune sessions and show the Mustang and Camaro crowd what Buick power is all about.
