Yes the mirrors have spotlights in them. Not sure if this was a dealer installed option or the owner added them. Believe it or not the trans fluid is full and clean. So is the motor oil. I will definately take everyones advice with the Marvel Mystery Oil and crank it by hand.

Finally dropped the tank, filled with rust and the top is filled with holes and very brittle. Where can I find a new one or a solid one to restore?

Great score, I really like the 57`s. Reminds me of when I found my 64 Wildcat Conv 32 yrs ago from the original owner. I looks like he didnt get out in the salty roads much. Pics dont show much rust on the body. That will be a cool driver when you get her back on the road. The color is awesome.

Drex..... Glad you are here..... I loooove the 57's... they are the very best of that series ....
Before you start the engine... lube it up like Bulldog said,,, and I will add,,, remove the dist cap and mark the position of the vacume advance and the rotor... then remove the dist from the engine.. and prime up the oiling system with a drill motor before you try to start it at all.... because you want lube oil on the cam bearings to keep from spinning them in the block and ruining the block.... age and varnish can make the cam bearings seize to the cam and then spin them in the block when you turn the engine with the starter....and if you prime the system before you try to start up... you get oil to the cam bearings, rod & main bearings, timing chain , lifters ect... BUT BE DOUBLE SURE,,,, NO,, TRIPPLE SURE THAT YOU PUT ZDDP ADDITIVE IN THE OIL BEFORE YOU EVEN TURN THE ENGINE OVER.... THAT IS A FLAT TAPPET ENGINE AND THE OIL NOW DAYS DOES NOT HAVE THE ZINC IN IT,, LIKE IT DID BACK THEN.... IF YOU DONT , YOU WILL DESTROY THE ENGINE.... OR AT THE VERY LEAST WIPE OUT THE CAM AND LIFTERS AND THAT WILL DESTROY ALL THE BEARINGS WITH METAL CHIPS.... and ,,,, you must , must,,must,,, put the additive in the engine each and every time you change oil and filters.... dont fail on this or you will destroy the engine..... it is very, very , important......:Smarty:
