I agree. I took a kid for a ride in the mid 12 sec skylark one day. On the first launch he says holly crap this thing must run in the 9's. I say no, it runs mid 12's. He says no way I have a friend that has a "11 sec" car and your car would kick the crap out of his. I said no, he thinks he has a 11 sec car but it is actually a 15 or 16 sec car if he is lucky. He replies ya he said it was a "11 sec" car but he has never taken to the track, but it was the fastest car I had ridden in up to that point so I just believed him.

I guess i was one of the lucky kids who had two older brothers who could drive when i was still really young and they both had BBB to show me what fast really was! My one brother had a 455 bore .030(??) over to a 464 that ran 11s (AlaskaBuick now owns that motor) and my other brother has a 455 with nothing but a mild cam and headers that runs 12s. And those numbers were from the track. Now im stuck in my 16sec boat that feels like a sloth. I gotta do some upgrades!

It's not that hard or expensive to get that Electra in the mid 13's just follow this link http://www.hotrod.com/eventcoverage/hrdp_0401_1970_cadillac_coupe_de_ville_drag_weight/index.html

I got it! Ill take the body off completely and just tape a lawn chair to the frame! Ill race it down the track that way. And ill be faster than the cops so i can drive it on the street and wont get pulled over.

I agree with both of those. You have to have the volume at the perfect level so people can still hear the motor.:TU: Good kill man.:beers2:

It only takes about 300 hp at the wheels to get a big old buick to 14s. maybe about 400 to get 13s. You can do it!

Hot Rod did just that to an old 500 cid Eldorado years ago. They kept running it down the track, then cutting off another chunk & running it again. They managed low thirteens with tires smoking all the way through first gear!

The dumbasses did the project in 2003; apparently nobody at the Hot Rod office remembered the magazine having done the exact same thing in 1987.

I'd prefer to not have my buick look like that.
