    Henry,

I did not catch the part that the book does not have dealer zone codes... I am not sure how much help that would be to me. I would not worry about making copies at this time. I will remember that you have this info if I ever come up with the need to research a partial dealer name...

    Thanks...

hi mark i am not a computer person, the only way i could burn a cd is to pour gas on it and put a match to it. ( joke ) only thing i know to do is, take this booklet to the library and xerox all the pages. it wont be pretty but it will be effective. i am willing to do that, but it may take me a while to do 96 pages. like i say, it does not have dealer codes. henry

    the book

Henry, you could take that book to lots of different Cyber/computer places, pay them to scan it and put it on disks, list them here and sell them. Start out with 10 or so, I think you could do OK for your time

Regarding Temple Motor Company, I drive by it frequently. Think it was named for the GW Masonic Memorial at Diagonal Road in Alexandria. Moved to a bigger location nearby about 15 years ago.

    Harry,

If possilble, could you stop at Temple Motor Company's current location someday, when you have time and pick me up ANY literature they might have on display in their showroom??

Anything you can get from either of the locations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe this weekend I''ll try to scan the flyer and post it if anyone would care to see it.I just found this a year ago and made me realize just how much I miss my dad.It was kind of a wierd thing to find as if maybe he was trying to tell me something. We both were Buick guys and this makes it more special.

    Duane,
Cecil Lawson was the name of the Buick & Cadillac dealer on the north side of west Cache Road in Lawton, OK. It was a relatively small volume Buick dealer up through the '70's. Right across Cache road was a really big dealership... Eddie Cordes (Mopar & AMC), & directly west was Weldon Cox Pontiac (took delivery of my 1st new TransAm at Weldon Cox). I grew up within bicycle distance of these dealerships, & my dad was in dealer relations for GMAC, so was often in the local GM dealerships with him.

By far the volume musclecar new car dealer in Lawton (& probably all of OK, Dodge wise) was Cordes. Gobbs of GI's stationed at FortSill bought Coronets, SuperBees, Darts, Chargers, etc from Cordes. The whole city was swarming with cheap Mopars.

    Henry,
Hello... Have not lived in Lawton since '80, but seem to remember hearing of a fire, but not 100% sure which "Mopar" dealer. If the parts were Dodge & AMC, had to be Cordes. If they were Plymouth & big Chrysler, would have been from Milo Gordon.

Up till aprox 6 years ago, used to get through Lawton on a near monthly basis, & there were still gobs of performance era Mopars setting on driveways in front of little houses north of Cache Road. Car mix wise in the late '60's-mid 70's, being a big Army town, cheap & affordable performance was more "in vogue" in that localle, than loaded out GS's, 442's, & GTO's. On the street, even in the Mopar ranks, one seldom ran across more expensive performance cars, say 440 'Cuda's or 440 Challengers. One good buddy's dad did have a '68 Hemi Roadrunner, & Cordes had at least 4 winged Chargers late in the '70 year, can remember 'em setting on the lot for a long time & everyone made fun of their looks :pp:
