Ditto! Great thread. Yep I hit mine. Said I wanted to go 9.20's and make at least 750 hp in a 3100 pound GS. Well did it! 7.25 making 780 hp in a 3070 pound car.

2005 goal??? Safety: chute, funnycar cage, better helmet. New slicks and the trans needs to be freshened along with a new convertor all in time to kick some Ohio butt at Norwalk :moonu: ....oh and to race until I drop!!!! Hopefully run that 7.25 number at Norwalk with the improvements.....and maybe just maybe a power shot kit...I swear I'll only use it once :pp

I've had a long time goal of owning a huge convertible that I could play with and cruise the highways smokin' a big fat stogie. After looking at several dogs I finally included Buicks in my search and found a great car. What a blast! Tonight we bundled up put the top down and cruised watching the eclipse. You guys make Buick ownership just that much better.
    Thanks

Major goal - Make it to the BPG Nationals and Meet all the wonderful people I've been introduced to while being in the BPG and V8Buick. I Met ALOT of people and made new friends, met old ones, and had one HELLA time. Didn't meet everyone I wanted to....but there's always next year.

Major Goal - Drive my car to Salem, race my car a few times and post a 12.xx in total street trim, and make it home. :TU: :beer 12.89 on my Highway Radials ain't too shabby. I did have a few problems on the ride home (nothing major)....but my great Buddies Ron and Larry had my back covered and I made it into the driveway no sweat.

Minor Goal - Get the Turbo car on the road  :Dou:

Minor Goal - transform my 4.5 car garage from a craphouse into a DreamGarage  :Dou: ... but I've started cleaning it at least

Well-made most of my goals. I had hoped to get 9.80's and run over 134 MPH hit both of those.

Little disappointed in how I ran at Norwalk and BPG race due to new torque converter issues but I finally got those sorted out and the big pig was flying

I was happy with my racing this year I made it to the finals of four races, down to five cars at Norwalk and won the points championship in Real Street here locally. So I can be glad for that.

2005 will be me watching all my buddy's race and working on a new car.

I had three goals for the season. 1) Go faster. 2) Win rounds. 3) Don't break anything.
I just about succeeded on all fronts!
    1) Picked up from last year's 8.94 to this year's 8.82. (8.74 with John Jr. in the car at Norwalk.)
    2) Finished in the money at 4 races in a row. Semis at BPG, Quarterfinals and Low Qualifier-Big Block at E-Town, Winner at Norwalk!, Quarterfinals at Cecil.
    3) Total breakage for the year: one starter drive gear, one torn-up flywheel, one leaky head gasket for the last two events, two smashed header collectors and bent header flanges (thanks to John Jr's aborted wheelie  ) Total cost for parts and repairs - $500 plus or minus a dollar or two. Value of a season like I had - PRICELESS!! :TU: Thanks go out to everyone who helped me along the way. Your assistance proves how tight this "Buick Family" really is.

PS - Along the way, I did some MONSTEROUS wheelies. I hope you all enjoyed them as much as I did! :TU:

Only ones I've ever enjoyed more was that pesky blue wagon dragging the rear bumper down the strip in the mid 90's.....

You are hereby dubbed WheelieKing 2004 :beer :TU: :beer (by me at least, if that any consolation :Do No:  )

My year went by way too fast to accomplish all my goals, but I did finally run mid 11's. With a slipping tranny it just made it all the more sweet! Once I get that rebuilt it should be faster right? As I left the track I realized I never even popped the hood... never done that before. I guess you could say its running great if you don't have to open the hood. Or you could say I'm lazy.

My small goal of turning my daughters old Barbie jeep into the Batmobile for my son was accomplished in record time with only 2 gallons of Bondo, 1 cardboard box and some fiberglass.

My other goal was to get my Stage 1 back on the road but the chrome shop had my stuff for 8 months, so it's not all my fault.

Next years goals will be to get the front wheels off the ground!
(not by just using a jack)
Oh I suppose I should please my wife once too.

I'll steal Doug's goals as they were the same as mine! 1) I did go faster, a 10.32 compared to a before best of a 10.46, 2) First time out this spring(not counting the rain soaked Norwalk) was a Wed. night at Muncie dragway where I won the slick tired class(trophy only) on to Bowling Green where I had 3-runnerups and a semi final finish, from there I had several early round losses, but finished the season with another semi final finish (with trophy) on Muncie dragways last night of the season. 3) No breakage this year, replaced a leaking valvecover gasket, jetted the carb a couple times and thats about it!
PS - Enjoyed a few wheelies of my own!

2005 Goals, more of the same!!!!!!!! (that and I should try to get Robin's car finished :spank: )

Still trying to find those elusive 14's

A TA212 should do the job just fine. I still haven't rejetted the carb....it's still stock. I need to fatten it up a bit. I have way too much air moving thru it for stock jetting. Oh well....who's counting anyway?

    Goals.

I achieved a few goals this season . I got back on track with the Lark after having it for almost 3 years . Tried to sell it but would of had to give it away .
Sold a Cool 64' Chrysler 300 to get the funds up for this stage of the Resto /Restification . I've never done a frame off and wanted to try .
So I did it went great . I'm real happy with how it came out . Blasted ,painted ,frame etc. , new bushings ,springs are in , body is on . Did it all on my own with help from you guys .
Another milestone was reached... 3 years in the making . Started the fence around our 5 acres including X-fencing . Finished the posts' / wire 10-28-04 ,
overall I've put up 120 + posts and 1,300 '+ wire since this past April . 1,800'+total . I left the worst for last , 425 ' feet through , over & around trees and stumps . I put in the last staple around 2 PM. wednesday . I was stoked  I can actually see the end of the BIG jobs as this was the last ! I've got a little building to do still , I'm wiring our Gazebo soon and plan on enclosing it with dual pane windows next year so we can enjoy it all year when Chillis' up to it . Also be bringing water and cable out to it and her Art Studio .
An another.. Rewired , (110-220) the garage and a new shed for the compressor , insulated taped, textured, painted the garage , and installed security lighting . And got some neat new equipment Mig Welder , 60 gl . compressor .
So now the rain is here soon , snow . The Buick is on the back burner until I can figure out a paint booth for small parts and heat for the garage .
I've got a few ideas I'll see how it goes .
    Steve

    Hey Adam,

Ian Fitzgerald of England e-mailed over a write up on his '71 Riv which ran a 12.87 at 106.22 with a 1.93 sixty foot. It's all Buick no nitrous and with a 3.23 gearing. The article will be in the Aug/Sept issue (at the printer already).

So there is hope for you to reach your goals and maybe beyond, considering another heavy Buick (his curb weight is 4600 pounds) is running the numbers.
