    Hey Guys.........

Don't let the picture fool you too bad........ The shop is typically dirtier than it clean :) . About every 3 months I drag it all out and and scrub / wash the floor down (my little boys come out there so it has to stay some what clean). Anyway I wish I was able to keep it like that all the time but......................

And BTW... It is heated via a forced air Natrual gas furnace, and has a Refer AC unit as well  Yeah, I know I'm spoiled........

Greg Schmelzer What are you looking at?!

    Try this...

JIm, a friend of mine had the same issue. All he did was to make it a cathedral ceiling in the garage. He then had enough room to install the lift and kept within city codes. I can't imagine the city would let you put a lift in front of the garage, but not let you build it tall enough to put one inside. Any neighborhood covenants regarding the lift out front? I would think that would be a hang up as well.

    Re: Try this...

The new garage is in the back so the lift will only be visible to me behind the house. Because of it placement it wont be visible from inside the house either. Keeps the wife happy.
Yeah the city has rules against these, but during the course of construction I have gotten to know the inspector quite well. He said as long as it's not visible from the street then I wont have a problem.
The city wouldnt let me go higher on the roof line because they had already given me a special variance to be able to build 5ft off of the back property line and the didnt want the neighbors behind complaining of a too tall roof line.
I purchased the lift after I was too far into construction to change the rafter design. It was one of those deals too good to pass up. Now my attic space is floored and being used for storage.
