Just returned from a week in Florida (North Fort Myers area). 70's & 80's. Back in Windsor @ 25*F. Awful!!! And 2+ inches of snow overnight. Yuk.

That's why I sold my businesses and moved to Florida. Should have done it 5 years sooner. I kayak from home to the Gulf when I want, go to the beach when I want and can enjoy the cars year round

I plan to retire in Ponce Inlet in about 12 years. We travel to Daytona Beach twice a year and love the atea.

Been thinking of another move to Wilton Manors outside of Ft Lauderdale but prefer the Gulf oover the Atlantic coastline. Plus Prices are a lot higher, right now I am a mile from the beach

I feel for you guys shoveling that white crap for sooo long, but damn it, we get sick of hot and hotter weather. Just cleaning around the shop some yesterday, I was sweating my butt off. The cool weather just don't stay long enough to get a break from the sauna or steam bath temperature we have 9 months a year. When I retire I will leave this crap in the summer and visit your northern neck of the woods. What most people don't understand, is that we are the completed opposite of the extreme cold. You just can't take enough cloth off to be comfortable. We live with constant air condition, as we speak is on in the house, and here we are at the end of February. Plus don't forget everything on the car will rust sitting in the shop without AC. A constant maintenance on your equipment keeping it from looking like it's been left outside in the rain. I will never condemn the snowbirds for doing what they do.

You guys can have all that frozen precip. It was ugly today in Pensacola but we still saw 70 degrees. Coldest night of the year so far at my house was 32. It was one night. Been here since I was a kid. Been through hurricanes(and flew in them for work) and to date haven’t suffered too badly from it. I’ll stay here in Florida and might even move further south..........but liberals live there so I might stay put! lol

My name is Fred and I am a Snow Bird......
Got the best of both worlds. Winter in FL, and the rest of the year up north. To cold up north in the winter, to hot and humid in FL in the summer. Maybe some day when I get old and decrepit I may make Fl year round.

Tried that. Had property in both states. Needed to be south during hurricane season and north during snow season to prepare for and manage weather-related issues. Never seemed to be able to make snowbird thing work for us...

Have been in Naples for almost three years. Snowbirded in Cape Coral for about six years before that. Don't miss New England a bit, but do miss my family and friends there. If I never see a snowflake again (unless the bride and I do a winter trip to Switzerland and Austria) I will be a happy camper. Was working outside today at almost 85 degrees and sweating like a pig. Loved it!

    Hey George

I hear ya. Being from your home town can't take the cold anymore. Loved it as a kid when I played a lot of hockey. My wife and I are right now spending a month in San Jose Del Cabo in the Baja. Third time here. Like Florida but weather to up and down for us. Can't be the prices here. Weather is perfect every day. Can get a beautiful condo with pool across the street from the beach for $2,000 a month. Super safe here too.
