I ran my 65 for the first time a couple weeks ago and did not do so well on my 60 ft time 1.99 but I ran a 12.36 in the 1/4 at 112.49 MPH, any guess on what I would have ran with a better 60 ft time? My 330 ft was 5.31.

Do you have rear air bags? What stall converter you run? What kind of tires?

Yes, I have air bags, stall speed is 3400, tires are MT ET Street radials 26" 18lbs of pressure 3.73 gears Thanks

It sounds like you have everything you need, maybe drop the tires to 13.5 lbs and preload the engine to 2000 or 2400 or so then when the 3rd yellow comes on, then mash it!!!! I run around 25 lbs in the passenger side bag and around 14 in the drivers bag.

Alot of time is always left right at the tree!!:3gears:

    Oh and lots of practice!!!

With that mph you will see 11's for sure. Maybe low 11's.

There are all kinds of et calculators on the web to play with.
    Here is one:
    http://www.race-cars.net/calculators/et_calculator.html

It's accurate to a half tenth on my blue 66!
....3900 lbs with 102 mph trap speed gives my nail 323 rear wheel hp and 13.36 et.
I ran a 13.41 with some wheel spin.
I'm curious to see how it computes with your cars....give it a run.:3gears:

I came up with 400 rear wheel ponies with that one Walt.:bglasses:

Thanks Mark, maybe with more practice I can get as fast with the tree as tyler does!!

    I hate younguns!!!!:beers2:

I've found that loosing a tenth in the 60' drops the 1/4 time by 2 to 3 times that ... If you look back at the first post were Joe details his runs you can see this is true. You should easily be in the 11's with that et and mph and gear/tire combo.

What happened ? did you spin badly ? how many runs ?

Yes, I did spin off the line and I did not go on the third yellow like I should have, I was only able to get one run in, before it started to rain. I will try the pressure changes in the tires and air bags and Mash it on the third yellow!:3gears: Thanks for the info I will let you all know how it goes.

    NJBuickRacer I'd rather be racing...

A tenth in the 60' is worth a tenth and a half to two tenths on the big end, depending on how fast the car is. I use 1.5 tenths for every tenth in the 60' as a "rule of thumb" as it's pretty close for cars in the 11s and 12s. I also don't put much faith in the calculators, as they don't account for the converter/launch dramatically reducing your 60' time. The calculator says I have like 235 at the wheels, and when I plug it in to the other equation it says I should run a 15 something

    Weight is 3610 with driver
I miss quoted tire size mine are 29.5x9x15 ET Drag Slick
I massaged inner rear wheel tubs to keep from a rub on tire side wall.
I hate rear air bag so I designed a spring jack with adjustable rear shocks and it seems to work real well.
Reaction time has nothing to do with 60 ft times. Timer starts after beam is broken at starting line.

How did you get it lighter? You have any fiberglass?:Brow:

    Whats a spring jack?

    What is your mph?

Only fiberglass is hood scope. Trimmed all brackets and bumpers, insulation, padding and rustproofing, any extra metal spotts removed, with a full bench seat and rollbar.
Spring jack is what I call it. It allows spring rate adjustment with out air bags. Something I fabricated and tested.
    MPH 125@10.995 & 124.15@11.049
