Well it was a great day for me at the track. I finally got everything worked out and ran decent I think.

    1st run, 12.80 at 104.5 - 60 ft 1.85

    2nd run, 12.50 at 106.3 - 60 ft 1.80

    3rd run, 12.36 at 108.7 - 60 ft 1.74

    4th run 12.40 at 108.4 - 60 ft 1.71

I think I can get this car in the 11's on a good cool night. Bump the timing a little after getting some high octane and maybe jet the carb too.

if you are already running slicks or ET streets or DR's, I don't know if you can get in the 11's... your MPH doesnt seem to be high enough.

with those 60ft times you seem to have good traction.

I hope I'm wrong and you do get to 11's.... :beer

Very cool. Pretty good times too.
If you get into the 11's, isn't that where you start to have to make some mod's to the car, like roll cage? I've got quite a bit to learn on that part.
I want to build a track car. The wife is into the idea too. You're running the times that I would like to be running already.
I may go look at a 65 tomorrow with exactly that in mind. Not sure what I'm going to sell if I decide to try and get it, but I may go look.

It needs to be tweaked. No?

I did nothing to the car to get the improvements I got.

I should be able to squeeze a little more out of it. Hopefully.

And this isn't any kind of big quest of mine for me to get it in the 11's, just what I think I could get out of it.

    Race weight is 3950.

You can sell anything on craigs list!! ANYTHING!! I say buy it!!!!lol!!

You need a cage better than 11.49, so i'm good to go.

Good deal dude! where were you running?....temp etc...Its been 100+ here pretty much since we got back from BG.

Just got all the stickers off Misty, aiped her down good and once again realized that I will be finding rubber from burn outs pretty much like last year....ought to have it all clean by November/December:Brow:

Keep it up and bring it to BG next year!!!

Great work, Joe. Do you have your build detailed anywhere on the board? What rpm are you at through the traps? Your 60's showed steady improvement, but .70's are still going to hold you out of the 11's unless you have a top end adder in store, which I bet is not the case. What is the traction siituation looking like?

    Good JOb Man!!!

72 455, 30 over forged. TA C 113, KB roller rockers, did my own porting, spend a whole winter doing the heads, msd pro billet dist. Brand new Demon 850, stock 80's in there now. Didn't even touch the carb with a screwdriver yet. 1 7/8's headers, club 3 inch x exhaust, dynomax stainless mufflers. Trunk mounted battery.

T400 built by my best friend. Unbelievable tranny. 9 inch 3500 to 4000 stall converter. Deep pan. Rear air bags.

Now here's one problem, 26 inch tall slicks with 355's.

Don't Know about that Tyler. Maybe it's on the web site? RaceWay Park. something?

Englishtown Jersey Scott. It wasn't good air today. So thats another reason I believe it's got a little more in it. It's only the first time I took it out!! I wish I could make it to BG. Not sure how probable it is though. I don't own a trailer. Yet anyways.

Thanks dude. It was at 6000 through the traps.:eek2:

DA was between 2700 and 3250 ft. Started out high but got lower throughout the day. Barometer was only 29.84 at the beginning of the day but improved as the day went on. On a good mineshaft air night in the fall with a negative 1200 foot DA he should get that 11 second slip:TU:

Joe, your 60's improved with each run which is usually from working on launch techniques and traction / track conditions improving as the day progresses; what do you think? The air getting denser can show a bit at the top end, but no more than a .10 or so. It looks like dialing in that 60 foot time is where you must be thinking you can get in the 11's unless tuning is somehow going to overcome traction which usually is not the case unless traction is in step. Keep us posted for sure and keep tear-arsing down the track!:beers2:

Joe, I need to stop by and weld in a bung on your exhaust so we can throw my wideband in. Once the A/Fs are dialed in you may find more ET than you think:TU:

A slightly taller tire will help get the rpm down a bit through the lights. With the 113 cam it will spin to 6,000 but its not building the same power as it will at say 5,600. Your mph should pick up and with more tire on the ground it should hook better. Dial in the carb (with Arties wideband) and then dial in the suspension. An 11 second slip might be only a tad optimistic with it all dialed in. But I wouldn't put it out of the question. Look for something in the 27" to 28" range. Good Luck. And I'd tell you to be satisfied with where you are and don't try for the 11 second slip, but I know how addictive that speed thing is. Each new level of performance begs for more to see how quick and fast you can go. Where does it stop :Do No: Only when you run out of money.

Congrats Joe sounds like you had a blast which is most important.Good luck with your 11 sec goal.I have a o2 bung in my exhaust so x3 on getting that. It's a nice piece of mind to know your air/fuel ratio.I thought mine was just a bit rich and tested it and it was a tad lean. You are getting good tips on here so good luck and have fun.

That car sounded awesome when you did the burnout at Yardleys last year! Healthy.
I guess you are hooked on racing now......

I can see where your going there. I'm happy if it runs good and consistant. Thats all I want. I mean it would be great to go faster everytime but unrealistic for a guy who is out of work!!

Always great input here Jamie. I will be getting a bung soon probably!!!LOL

Yea thanks Walt, and it wasn't running on all 8 at the time:Dou: . I had a plug wire that wasn't pushed into the boot properly, so I had jumping spark going on in the one cylinder.

It was a great day. I only wish there were more of us that lived closer. We need to do a few day trips to the tracks.:beers2:

Low 12's is pretty good for my home ported heads. I knew they felt really good on the street. So this proves my head work was worth the entire winter effort!!!!

    Flow Bench ,Shmo Bench!!!LOL:bla:

Joe, with a 26" tire and 3.55's, 109 MPH would put the RPM at approximately5000. If you were seeing 6000, I'd say that converter was slipping excessively.
