PM board member robs71redriv about that, I believe he has the right documentation to answer your question :TU:

Are you interested in a Boattail meeting in the Netherlands, later this year ?

    Claudia,
Welcome, a lot of great info on this board, that Riv is a great find. They made VERY FEW without A/C but no actual count. I found this one in Flint Michigan last year.<a href="http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w13/batcar73/Flint%202010/?action=view&amp;current=parts009.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w13/batcar73/Flint%202010/parts009.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

    Claudia,

Do you know if the yellow high beam (inner) lights are the "sealed beam" type or not ?
If German TV doesn't allow them on your car, or if you want to change them for regular lights, let me know :TU:

(Replacements are made by Hella, for sale in your local automotive store)

  5. Erik,
As the car was street legal in France the beams got the E-No. That means they are legal all over the EU. The bulbs are white with removeable yellow plastic covers.
    You got good eyes!
I asked Rob for the non A/C production No. Boattails 72. He hasn`t got them for that year but for the other years he says 99.3 % got A/C.
    Thanks for that informations, Claudia

    Roberta Buick Berta

there were 33728 Riv built in 1972 and 28943 had A/C so 7785 did not have A/C 85.8% had it according to my records, from BMD

So, they are not the original sealed beam type head lights, because they have removable bulbs.
That's what I was on about.

Don't count too much on it that cars from one EU country are street legal in the next EU country if you want to register them there.
And this was a brand new import in 1972, do you think they had E-numbers and regulations in those days ?

In Germany you have to have everything written on the car registration documents. (Fahrzeugbrief)
For example: You can't go from the original 6J rims and 215 tyres to 10J rims with 295 tyres without written permission from TV.

In the Netherlands we can do that without a problem, we are even allowed to run our classic tax exempt cars on LPG.

Anyway, I hope to see you at a few car shows in your area later this year.

What about the Fun Car Show in Illzach, France ?
Or the big American Life meeting in Oensingen, Switzerland ?
    Or Gaggi's meeting in Ebenweiler, Baden-Wrttemberg ?

I will also attend a smaller meeting in Ohnenheim, Alsace.
And of course the annual meeting of the Swiss Buick Club, somewhere in August.

  8. Another speedy answer from a specialist. I do own some more classic cars and know how important a private library can be. But to get such information on my own would take me ages.
    Thank you Roberta

    I see another typo:

    33728 - 28943 = 4785

That's 14.18% without AC, or (like Roberta copied from her BMD records) 85.82% that came with AC :TU:

My boyfriend and me have been to Classic Car Meetings in Ebenweiler twice.
We never met you because we spent the weekends there for the Triumph Spitfire Meetings. I think Gaggi`s is one week later.
We will try to meet you there this year!
Martin supports me in any way but he prefers his little english car instead of those huge US Muscle Cars. I do own a Spitfire as well!
Oensingen and Aarau are on my list.

    Hi Claudia,
beautiful Riviera, congrats! And nice to see another Import from France. I bought my Electra near Toulouse last year, it was delivered to the first owner in Paris. Mine is also A/C delete, seems it wasn't a popular option in France... ;)
