What is the name of your fav. restaraunt and what do they serve there? My favorite restaraunt is Santinos(located in quincy illinois, about 40 miles south of keokuk Iowa), and they serve the best mexican food around, they have everything from enchiladas to hot dogs. Pricey, but worth every cent after you are done eating there. :TU:

Lambert's Cafe in Ozark, Mo. They have chicken, steak, pork and fish along with a wide variety of veggies and extras. And they throw your rolls at ya. Only get to eat there once a year and the wait is always long, but definitely worth it. If you ever make it to Springfield for the Street Machine Nationals, it is a must to drive ten miles or so to the south for good eats. :TU:

My favorite restaurant is "Monterey Bay Fish Gratto" on Mount Washington High above and overlooking the beautiful night view of Pittsburgh. AS the name would imply, Seafood is their specialty - They serve a shrimp cocktail that the shrimp are the size of small banana's over dry ice so you get a giant shrimp cocktail that boils and steams, it's great - no matter when I go, I am always going to try something different and I always get the Jumbo crab cakes. My 2nd favorate place is just down the street, same view called "The LeMont" Much more formal, a tad pricier but 5 stars all the way. My favorite there is Salmon Wellington (salmon broiled topped with South African lobster meat and jumbo crab wrapped in a filo dough, it has a buerre blanc sauce that is superb.

Trey, we go there every year too. Lambert's is always a must! Haven't missed a show since '98. I'm more than likely gonna haul the wagon down this fall. Was it just me or was there a lot less Buicks at the show last fall? Maybe we could meet up sometime during the weekend. I've gotta get my rear in gear and make my hotel reservations now that I come to think of it.

My second favorite would have to be Fazolis, the name says it all. It's an italian restaraunt also located in quincy illinois. They give you free and an unlimited amount of breadsticks, and no matter what you order, it is a guarantee to be good. And then there is A&W, love that restaraunt as well. Im a real sucker for the rootbeer floats. Too bad Keokuk doesn't have one no more :( Have to go 40 miles south or 35 miles north to go to one :(

Mama Santa's in Little Italy, Cleveland (Hts?), Ohio. Great food, reasonably priced, and actually traditional Italian.

I'm gonna have to go with Red Robin. There's a couple in Omaha, Ne. They serve gourmet hamburgers. My favorite one is called the Royal Red Robin burger. It has a fried egg, cheese, and 3 strips of bacon on it. Kind of like a gigantic Egg McMuffin, only with a big beef patty. Dang, I'm getting hungry now.

in Nevada Missouri there is a little place called "The White Grill".
been there since 1939. the building is almost as big as the glovebox on my (74) lesabre and has HALF the lighting.
they make your old fashioned tasting greasy burgers and suzy-Qs (curley fries) served with REAL milkshakes and malts..

the guy throws a bunch of red taters in a plastic 5 gallon bucket and takes his 1950ish all aluminum electric drill with the speacial suzy-Q attachment and starts drillin' the taters into georgeous curly fries.
the beef is scooped out of cardboard drums with an ice cream scoop (1 scoop for a single patty and 2 scoops make a double-sized patty).
or you can order a greasy breakfast.

if you get a To-Go order ...you have to hold your hand against the bottom of the paper bag so the grease soaked bag cant let your food fall on the ground on the way out to the car.

the menu says that rolaids are $100.

Not near enough Buicks last year. Hopefully, there will be at least 1 more this year. If you take the wagon, you will definitely see me.
Also, Stroud's in K.C. is a close second if you like chicken. It's a little hole in the wall, but excellent food. I would recommend that, if you ever get that way. :TU:

Carabba's has to be my favorite...mmmmm Sirloin Marsala. Been to Red Robin once in Michigan, was probably the best burger joint I've been to yet.

As for Expensive places... We have a place called "The Melting Pot" down here... Fondue style eating. Don't go unless you've got 2 hrs. to kill and around $200 you don't need, but the best food I've ever had and a wine list bigger than the menu...lol. Man..... to be a waiter there

  13. I'm finding myself at The Feve in Oberlin, OH quite a bit. While it's more of a bar than a restaraunt, hands down it's the best burger...ever. They have other dishes that are not your typical bar fare, and they also have an amazing brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Not something you'd expect in a little college town for sure. Oh, and the drinks are quite good too!

Robintino's in Bountiful (or is it Woods Cross?), Utah. Specifically, their pepperoni pizza . . . yummie!

I've never had east coast pizza, which everyone says is pretty good too, but I can't imagine it being better.

I do enjoy Vincents in Little Italy. I don't think any other pizza if its not from NYC its good. Maybe its the water over here. I also like buffets also, one of my favorites is Golden Corral they are gone now. Another good one is in College Point its called The master grill. They give you all the steak and meat you can eat. Its $30 per person but the soda refils are not free though.

    Got me a few faves.

In Omaha, it would have to be The Leavenworth Cafe. Been there for 40 some years. You can get 5 egg omelet for $6.95!! And that is a garbage omelet, i.e. everything in it. Some people call them Western Omelets or Denver Omelets.

Here in Lincoln, I would have to say The Hiway Cafe on Hiway 2 near the state pen!! Really good food and open 24/7.

As for greasy burgers, the best I have ever had was in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Little hole in the wall with out a dining room. Drive up only. Locally I would have to go with Don and Millies here in Lincoln and The Millard Express in Omaha, although I don't get there too aften anymore.

As for BBQ, I would have to say Bill Sharp's Country BBQ on highway 50 outside of KC, MO. BIG food at a great price.

In Alaska, there was one halfway between Fairbanks and Anchorage called Skinny Dick's Halfway Inn. No that is not dirty, but it sure sounds like it. That is where I found and fell in love with Alaska Beer!!! Can't seem to find it outside, though. :ball:
