Paul, I like how you took the black all the way to the front glass. I was wondering where to stop with mine. I had stopped at the leading edge of the upper vent tank but, I like the black all the way...
Candidate for dirtiest engine bay A pic of my 66 riviera taken the first day I got it. Ive cleaned it up a little, but not much, im mainly working on finding the right parts to make it run right, then ill clean it.... Thats an engine bay after spending 15yrs of its life covered up in a barn...
It doesn't look too good after sitting for 23 years, but it runs awesome. Believe it or not, the motor is brand new (well was) and only has 121 miles on it. It's been sitting since 1982, but get started once every couple of weeks, to make sure everything runs okay. The grime is just dust and dirt from sitting. I can't to get it to my garage and clean it up and get it back out on the road!! Scott
Yes they are Keith! I have the dual nozzle setup from SMC Enterprises and a 1 gallon tank, which you can see attached to the fan shroud, right by the battery and in front of the wastegate control.
Jim, believe it or not, but I painted everything up front (core support, firewall, wheelwells, etc.) with spray cans of Krylon semi-flat black. It's much cheaper than the GM restoration black and I think it does a nice job of matching the original look. Of course, it always looks nicer when it's fresh, too!
I used Krylon ceramic engine enamel I think it's the 500 deg. Lo gloss black. Looks great! Now I've seen yours, I'm going to take it all the way to the front glass. This pic has all the holes taped off because I'm painting the interior but, you get the idea.
NAILHEAD POWER!!! Here's another Krylon and NAPA engine enamel job.......done in the early 90's. Peace WildBill
And for my next 'Cat...... GeSsler Stage 1 heads with a stage 3 port job and T/A roller rockers hide under those Edelbrock's and MORE. I can't wait!!! Peace WildBill
Buickwagon said: " Not quite a finished engine compartment, but here's the engine in my Sportwagon." Butch, that wagon's engine bay looks GREAT. I can't wait to see the car when it's done. Keep up the good work. :TU:
