    It may be one ugly engine, and sure the exhaust smells like rotten eggs, and yeah it's not "running on all cylinders", but boy I like my seven jackass engine!

    This is what 3 or 4 nights in a cold garage in the dead of winter with spray cans and degreaser can do. "Get Motivated, People!" It doesn't take much effort, just some time and elbow grease. My first detailing:

    I've got some cleaning to do

    All those museum quality Buick engine bays have got me feeling pretty low.
    I'm in the middle of a timing chain swap and some other little things.
    I need to put "CLEAN" on top of my bonehead do list.

    It is just a simple case of removing all the brackets and painting the engine. Then clean and paint each bracket before putting it back on the engine. It really isn't much work, but it is time consuming.

    Wire wheel each nut and bolt, use mineral spirits to remove the heavy grease, then carb cleaner and DAWN to get it squeakey clean. Then prime and spray.
