    why change

Is your car heavily modified already? If not changing the engine color would sway many if you would ever resale. Be proud of the Buick Heritage and stay Buick Red. That said, it's your car though so do what makes you feel good.

I kinda like the race engine look and since my engine is modded I painted it cast iron grey. Looks like a bare finish. Then all the accessories are either semigloss black or bare aluminum. I think it looks like an engine from a Nextel Cup car. Sweet.

I agree. All the parts I've been able to get to have been painted Buick red. It lets the brand x'ers know we mean business when they see a lot of red under the hood.

Every buick motor that I've dropped in has been red. However I do recall seeing a yellow Tri-shield 455 on this webpage about a year ago, that looked pretty awesome!!

well you guys wont like it probably but my nailhead is gloss black paint on the block and gloss black powdercoat on the heads while almost everything else is plated or polished and my headers are ceramic t/a shorties the reason i am using black is that it really brings out the chrome and it will make my engine bay look really classy when its all done...

if you want authentic, go red. that is what i would do. chevy and mopar can argue over orange, and ford can have all the blue it wants. black is too much like a target master [ie; chevy] motor, as well as light blue. in fact, chevy has tried all of the colors at some point in time trying to disguise their less than stellar block. pontiac blue...na! as well as olds gold. i know! try all chrome! :TU: it is only money!
