They come up on eBay from time to time. Marty and Eelco also sell a new reproduction flex plate. I haven't seen them on his site, but I've seen him selling them on eBay.

Just to keep you all up to speed. Marty said he shipped the adapter to me yesterday Feb 23rd. He has made 2...1 for me and 1 for Nailheadnut.

Nailheadnut has written an article for the ROA about transmission upgrades on First Gen Rivieras and has referenced Marty's new version adapter.

I'll let you know what I think when I receive the kit as I am supposed to be the first to get one.

My project is sitting still until I get it.

So, after these first 2 are received, you will have some real world feedback and will be able to order your own!!

    6671,
Those are options for the 300-340-350-400-430-455 guys, but not the Nailhead. The Nailhead doesn't use the later BOP Hydramatic case. If only it was that easy!

can anyone tell me if there is an adapter made to convert the original closed drive shaft to an open shaft to be able to use the original rearend?

No, because the torque tube itself is part of the suspension. Look at your rear axle and see if there are any controls arms on it that connect it to the chassis. The torque tube is a locating device as well as a housing device.

That is correct. Also, in an open drive line; the thrust is carried by the rear axle and suspension.
With a torque tube; the thrust is carried by the trans mount,.
