"Rare" is THE most overused word on eBay. A GS air cleaner, or a set of Star Wars sheets for that matter, or any old thing that they made 50 thousand of, is NOT RARE!
Do you all remember the guy that was selling the lug nuts, or something like that, off the Grand National? Put a couple pictures of the car on his auction and at the bottom of the description it said "this auction is for the lug nuts only"???? Talk about deception! I believe the guys on the turbobuick.com web site had a little fun with that seller.....
it was for ONE lugnut....if I remember correctly. I actually talked to the guy, and he seemed like a halfway decent person. He was also selling a turbocharger with "clipped fins" and I was curious as to what the heck that meant. He told me with some very detailed pictures. THat was definitely an interesting week!!
auctions that are listed as "no reserve" but starting bid is at some astronomical amount. sellers who dont know what they are selling. sometimes this can work in your favor, but if you want to know a little something about the item first, forget it. resellers! you saw this item up for bid last week but didnt have the funds to get it or got outbid [sniped] in the last second by someone who turns around and offers it right away for way more than they bought it for. resellers should just have to deal with each other and leave those of us who really need stuff alone! this one is only a minor gripe, but people who demand a money order or check and dont take paypal or some other escrow probably should give it a try sometime. i hate snail mail to send money orders anymore and sweat the day i find out the money order i sent to bumfukt, egypt mysteriously 'got lost' in the mail. nevermind the hassle of going and getting the M/O and mailing it off. by the way, that little girl and her mommy in front of the goat are SOOO CUTE, if i were a stalker i would go look for them right awayuzzled:
Things I hate 1. The mysterious handling charge. WTF I have no problem paying freight but a 1 lb piece that costs $10.00 to ship by the time you are done with the addons :af: :af: 2. How about "fair condition" Whats that? or how about 95% restored. What 5% is not done? o No: 3. Another one is I've noticed that almost every Skylark part is for a GS. Some are but most are parts that are universal to all Larks. Do they think we are going to jump on spindles just because they say GS? o No: o No: o No: 4. I agree with gs1970455. I F'N HATE ALL CAPS. :moonu: :moonu: :moonu: :moonu:
Paypal is easy but you constantly get screwed on the service charges. Ebay owns paypal, so wheneer you pay for something with is you get charged for them just moving some numbers that they already have, and then the seller gets reamed too. I shouldn't complain, I use paypal for the ease, but the charges suck!
Posting pics of your little girl and wife all over the internet is real responsible too. Pictures are hijacked all the time, so unless you want pics of your family showing up on websites all over the world, I wouldn't advise it. You wouldn't send pics of your family to complete strangers in the mail or send them in to newspapers and magazines all around the world, so why would you put them on ebay? Especially if they are not for sale..:error: Another thing I can't stand is pics of people's dirty hands and feet in an auction. That's so Billy-Bob. Take 2 seconds to omit your body parts from the auction......:blast:
I love it when someone has a P.O.S car on auction and they spray it with water THEN take the photo's so it looks better.....a$$clown!! ou:
Here's one I like, Pictures don't back up the description. Says it has a Factory sun roof, strange how this car doesn't http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6142&item=2475398793&rd=1
Thing is, I don't think you could get a sunroof with vinyl, could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you couldn't.
Check this one out http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6144&item=2476112198&rd=1
the guy above that has the compressor for sale wanted $200.00 labor to take out his AC box to sell it to me. this GUY heres my biggest pet peeve. intentionally misleading titles and descriptions. take a good look at item number 7900860403 the title says 1970 buick skylark 350 a/c compressor plus. the title and pics seem to imply you will get more than a compressor, but read it real
yeah, ha.. what are we selling here? not a good look at the engine compartment [engine, what engine?]
yep, they should call it e-pal or pay bay, and they shouldnt be able to charge twice for the same service! but on the good side it is easy, and i can pay right away for somethiing and know it is going to the person i am buying from. plus i have some recoarse if the deal goes sour. without a service like this i might as well be sending off my left 'lugnut' :eek2: via our beloved postal service and hope it gets where i want it to. and whats up with "shipping and handling"? i send stuff off all the time and i know what it costs to send stuff to me. just read the labels on the packages you get. postage is usually right on there. so i know it dont cost more to ship the jello plated zarblat i just "won" [sorry] than i payed for the zarblat in the first place. :spank: and why dont these people ever have all the parts to stuff? seems to me if they took the jello plated zarblat off the jinblehibbitz in the first place, they ought to have the right zarblat widgets to go with it [them? what ever] ou:
Really thats funny because when i'm buying a wife, usually there is a car behind them. Man does that piss me off!!! Angry at E-Bay, Patrick
Re: Re: E-Bay Pet Peeves There is a pic on a humor site somewhere that they stole from an ebay auction. The person was selling a stainless tea kettle and in the reflection you can clearly see that the photographer is a man with no clothes on.... ou:
